Yup. A 5th rounder. So a player picked in the #135-140 range. That player should easily make the Kings roster.

I think the forwards are comparable; they had Carter, Richards, Umberger, and Upshall. Also, remember that they were able to bring in Jason Smith, Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell, and Lupul in trades, plus the late-season acquisition of the good version of Coburn. They also signed the good version of Briere as well. That was a pretty drastic overhaul. I don't think the pieces are out there to do some of those deals again.
I really think next year will be more of the same. I hope not, but I think they need to only make moves of pieces signed past this year if they're blown away, and restock the cupboard. Maybe in 2 years start to build after you've have 2 seasons to see what is and isn't working.

I dont think you can compare Carter, Richards Umberger and Upshall to

Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds , Schenn , Couturier, Read.

I loved Carter and Richards and neither were as dynamic as Giroux and Voracek. Yes some combo of the back 3 players I listed will most likely be moved but that just makes us better.

I agree Marc. Talbot is a good player at a reasonable cap hit. I would keep him, unless someone overwhelms you. Guys who are UFA's should be dealt for picks/prospects.
