You wouldn't MPS? He's better than I'd imagine you think he is. I haven't really given thought to specific names I was just throwing pooh at the wall to see if any stuck. I'm sure we could come up with a "cap relief" deal for you though. - OilCountryEast
It seems the top 4 players the Oilers are interested in trading are Hemsky, Paajarvi, Whitney and Gagner. I dont want any of them, and I really hope the Flyers wouldnt either. The Flyers are already full of players like that.
In terms of cap relief the Flyers have plenty of cap space, especially if they buy out Briere. |

I'd be pretty damn willing to trade Hartnell.
What were you thinking? I dont want anything to do with Paajarvi. Dont want Whitney either. - flyer_nutter
It's tough to be "choosy" on who you don't want based on the condition of your "blue" right now. |

The Flyers already know this season is probably lost. They will not be giving Hartnell away from some quick blueline fix. They can wait for FA if they want marginal players.
If Holmgren isn't "choosy" on who he wants or doesn't want, he should be take out back Old Yeller style. |

Those players have little in common. What do you mean by this?

Why? It's not like this season can realistically be saved. |

If Smid was signed beyond this season, I'd consider him and Paajarvi for Hartnell. Hemsky is decent, but for 5mil I'd rather Philly save the cap space for the defense. |

Anyone have any thoughts on if Hartnell might be available?
He is part of what's missing in Edmonton. - OilCountryEast
If the Flyers are trading Hartnell they better be getting a puck moving defenseman back. |

Hemsky = Giroux
Paajarvi = Voracek
Gagner = Brayden Schenn
The only different is that the players on the Flyers end, are all better.
I'm not even going to talk about Whitney, who only up until recently has been a train wreck waiting to be injured. The Flyers could get a player like that in FA if they so choose.
The Flyers require players with solid veteran leadership, and hard nosed two way play in the forward core. On defense they need young two way d-men with star potential. |

I would be very willing to move him, I want his level of chronic inconsistency and stupidity off the team, in time.
He is still someone who CAN be a great part of this team. If the Flyers trade Hartnell it will not be for a bunch of (to put it bluntly), wussy players.
Just realized Ek has female genitalia auto-converted to "wussy". |

Yeah. Just your average role players. Not sure either of those guys gets you a pick higher than a 3rd rounder. - stveshdy
Talbot might fetch you more than some think, he's signed for another 3 years. |

Hell yeah. I think getting a 3rd rounder is more realistic. - stveshdy
Kubina's corpse last year was worth a 2nd and 4th. Then again, Holmgren can't trade Talbot to Holmgren. |

Kubina actually played well here when he came over at first I thought. poopty he couldnt stay healthy.
I'll be keeping a close eye on Morrow, Murray and Jagr (if he is traded), all playoffs.
I'd be very much in favour of the Flyers bringing in guys like that if they show that they still have some real game left. |

Pesonally I think GM's are willing to pay a higher price for a defenseman than a forward. Thats just me. Holmgren also doesn't like holding onto picks. |
