Well there are 2 to think about. Probably mid round projections
Spencer Martin - Mississauga (He struggled this year but scouts love his upside)
Charlie Graham - Belleville (He is the backup for Malcolm Subban but did very well when he got time & will be the front runner for starter next season) - ob18
Do you know anything about Mathias Niederberger? I don't think he's drafted. |

As far as I know he wasn't drafted I am checking with OHL writers and scouts now. |

Possible. If he does, I'd try to trade up and get him |

Personally, in my opinion I think a lot of this locker room issues with Subban are manufactured and is nothing but speculation. Same as it was with Richards and Carter. - MJL
I'm sure there's embers to the smoke, but it's being reported as fire. Of course, fire draws page clicks. |

It's not as if he's an Avery or Leeman. I'd love to have PK, I think most of his issues are maturity more than anything |

I heard they were traded for throwing snowballs at Santa Clause and batteries at JD Drew. They also bombed the MOVE house and were reported to both be the Scranton Strangler. |

There's always growing pains with a young players such as Subban. Especially when they're very good young players. They have to learn how to be a pro, how to fit in to a locker room, and be allowed to mature. It's a standard process that a lot of young players go through.

The move house bombing was delayed far too long. |

Read through the thread. Some good conversation and good points made. One thing though. I read a lot of talk about being ready to move on from certain players. Double edged sword. What you move on to, is not always better. A good GM doesn't make his decision based on who he's ready to move on from. Unless it's a financial decision. In terms of Hockey decisions, a GM makes moves based on trying to make the team better. And except in very rare cases, doesn't just decide to move on from a player, just to move on from him.
So if you want to move on from players such as Coburn and Hartnell. To give the full equation, it would be prudent to have a pretty solid plan in place to replace either player. Otherwise, you just moved on to move on. And if it doesn't improve the team, what good did you do? |

At this point, the only guy who isn't a UFA i'm sure I want to move on from is Danny Briere, and that's largely because of the cap situation and the logjam at center.
I'd be open to anyone else under contract staying and open to most being moved, if the price is right and there's a plan to fill the hole. It's hard, because it demands absolutes and nobody knows what will happen for sure. |

I like Martin's size better (6'2") and he'll be ready sooner. Less of a risk.
I like Graham, though, because I'd call him "Moonlight".

Just a thought if they wanted to add another goalie prospect in the mid rounds, after all all they really have is Stolarz so it like d-man is an area they need to add more depth even if they later become a trade chip. |

What I'm getting at is let's move Coburn. Why? Well because I don't like him or am tired of him. Not how a team should, nor is it how they operate. |

Mathias Niederberger went undrafted & is free to sign with any NHL team. His on a really good Barrie team still awaiting who they will play in round 2 on the OHL playoffs.

Yeah, I'm not saying to move Coburn, for instance, just to move Coburn.
I'd need to get a really good return and have a viable option to replace him. |

I'd look to add at least one goaltender to my draft selections every year. |
