You can never writte off the Flyers. It's not like your team sucks. It's a coaching/motivational problem I think. This can be fixed. In the NHL anybody can beat anybody any given night.

Sorry, you must be blind. These are pretty good numbers for the NHL.

You're just hurt because Shero didn't have the balls to pick up the phone and ask for him.

Lauridsen should get every opportunity to play the rest of the regular season. I certainly hope he doesn't get scratched for Huskins or if Grossmann makes it back.

After watching the BC-Union game last night, I was thoroughly impressed by Ghost. He certainly has an offensive dimension of speed and offensive ability that is very unique to the organization right now. He is a bright spot for the blue line in the future that is for sure.

Yesterdays game was what you want to see. They won, but more important they played a really good game. The effort was there & the team did a great job with puck support. Matt Read is really making me strongly consider making him "untouchable".

Read has really blossomed in my eyes. He's become an elite level Pk guy and he's skilled. Really enjoy watching him play.

My ranking of the sophomores on the untouchable scale:

1. Coots (I believe his hockey sense is top notch)
2. Read (Is really close to Coots, only second because of UFA status after next season)
3. B Schenn (good all-around game, more concerned with his defensive awareness)

Give him another college year and some true seasoning in the AHL (and time to fill out). Don't rush him and maybe he'll be special up in the NHL, too.

I believe Ghost turns 20 in a few months, so I'm assuming he would be AHL eligible next season. I'm not advocating putting him on the fast track, but it might not be a slam dunk he goes back to Union.

I actually am starting to place Read higher than Couturier. He's dripping with hockey sense and he can finish...I am sure Couts will develop. But if Read was 22 He'd be 2nd to Giroux and Voracek on my untouchable lists.

ReAd... "untouchable" he's a nice player but way far from untouchable. I'd say rinaldo is more untouchAble than read.

Its an interesting debate. To Read's credit, but at a cost to his performance I believe he came back too quickly from his injury. The last couple of games he seems to have gotten back his speed. Honestly, I would not be shocked to see the Flyers extend him this summer like they have with other younger players in the past.

I don't think you can read (PUN! PUN! I MADE A PUN!) correctly. Jsaq was mentioning that if Read was 22, he would be placed on the untouchable list. Considering that he's 26 though, he's not. Couturier had a bad year this season, that's bound to happen for a 20-year-old. But if he doesn't progress next season, I would be open to trading him for a top D-man.

Only if we trade someone. Homer doesn't believe in the bridge contract for skill players. They go from entry contract to 4 year 4 mil per season. Reads worth maybe 3 year 7 mil contract. Would be nice to see him win a puck battle once in awhile

I'd probably rather see Lauridsen play than Kurtis Foster, full time.

Foster might the softest player at his size I've ever seen on the blue line.

I think it is realistic to believe Homer will trade a young forward to improve the blueline this summer. The debate is which forward relative to cap hit, current production, and future projected production is mostly like to be used in a trade. I think at this point any of the following are in play in a trade scenerio: Coots, B. Schenn, Read, Simmonds, and Laughton.

Weber could be had or they wouldn't have waited a week to match offer sheet. In the end selling draft picks to fan base wasn't enOugH but players to build around would have been.
