there is no one player in ANY draft who is going to singlehandedly turn a pile of manure into a stairwell to the Stanley Cup.- Bill Meltzer

I know jsaq really likes read. Considering him almost untouchable is a stretch IMO. Then again I consider rinaldo the same way. Guess we all have our favs. - SMS4016
Read is an elite level PK guy, who plays 1st line and can score 20+ goals. He's probably been the 3rd most valuable forward on the team. I love Rinaldo, but if you think he's more untouchable than Read, I really have to question your opinion.
I call for Rinaldo to get more time often. But Read has been fantastic this season |

is this an honest opinion? - FlyerMike18
Yep. Guess I'm partial to players that actually show up every game. |

Rinaldo is perfect at around 10 mins. He's human and to up his minutes and ask him to play the same way is difficult. He's not very effective if he's not throwing his body around |

That's Because is a dumb a$$. I lime his boldness and balls of steel but he's a dumbs$$. Everyone pretty much agrees he's going to trade one of our forwards for a dman soon that's why when you get a chance to get someone like weber you pull the trigger. Coots of limits was dumb. He will enD up Overpaying for a good dman when we could of had weber. Not crying over spilt milk here just pointing out same crap this org. Does over and over. Id like to see Burke here. Someone not afraid to stand up to snider instead of being a yes man that homer and Clarke are - SMS4016
You value a 3rd/4th line agitator over a 1st liner who is also a very good two way player & top PK guy and you call Holmgren a dumbass?

I agree...I get bothered when he only gets 5-7 minutes...he brings a lot for a guy who was considered a waste by some. He's done a great job for the Flyers |

Weber could be had or they wouldn't have waited a week to match offer sheet. In the end selling draft picks to fan base wasn't enOugH but players to build around would have been. - SMS4016
I don't know anyone in the Preds front office so I can't comment on the timeline on their decision process. However, every comment from Poile after the Weber offer was matched didn't include they felt what the Flyers were offering in possible trade assets for Weber wasn't good enough. I know I'm not going to change your opinion on the situation, I'm just giving you my opinion on the matter which is what forum boards are all about. |

Laviolette seems to think that McGinn has to be in a top 6 role only. I hope Huskins doesn't push Lauridsen to the bench. |

Not many players like rinaldo in NHL. Or at least as effective at what he does. Granted sample size is small but I find myself sitting up paying attention when he geTs on the ice. I don't do that with read. Read may be more valuable for opportunistic scoring and good pk but rinaldo Can change games too. Meant more untouchable with regards to his role as agitator and beast of a hitter. |

Now that would be a travesty and I would certainly be shaking my head. I would not be suprised, but very disappointed.

I agree. I don't think hes a fit in the bottom 6 but I'd like lava to get a better look and leave him in for a few games. |

No chance they waited so long to tie the Flyers hands? That wait prevented the Flyer form doing anything else as Weber was in limbo...could have been Nashville's way of saying FU to Homer for the offer sheet. |

I'm just not sure he won't utilize the vet over Lauridsen. |

I know it's only a 7th found pick but why trade for a useless bum in a non playoff year? Just dumb. Bring a young guy up. Who cares. He's only gonna play 7 to 10 min anyways. |

Maybe they sit Foster? Lauridsen has more mobility than Foster. I liked what I saw from him yesterday (Lauridsen). And I agree with Bill, there were a few moments where Lauridsen fumbled the puck, but he recovered well for his first NHL game.
He didn't look out of place.

Nah doubt it. Poille and homer have good relationship. Nashville had to get owners to sign off. Wouldn't be surprised if they relocate in 5 years. |

I'm awaiting the arrival of an account that is either new or not been around in long time to argue with you for talking down to people as I was a few days ago... This should be good. |

If you read Bill's blog, you would get the impression that Huskins is merely a depth move--Lilja has lost all mobility, and Brandon Manning has not recovered from a hip injury.
You're kidding yourself if you think the Flyers are going to go the remaining games left without another injury on the blueline. |

If they don't resign him there's no cost. They only give Detroit a pick if they re sign Huskins |
