Islanders want to be buyers this deadline but they also have some players teams are very interested in, one being captain Mark Streit who has garnered interest from the Wings & Blackhawks even though the Isles are actively trying to re-up Streit to another multi-year contract. Other players teams are interested in from the Isles are C- Nielsen ' Winger- Bailey, Blackhawks / Wings / Blues have all called about Franzie and Flames / Blue Jackets have been monitoring Josh. - See more at: http://ibnsportswrap.com/...=484#sthash.i0Sp34y5.dpuf - Ur Not Me
I'd love to get Pominville like some of us have mentioned. I'm not sure about trading Bailey now. I'd rather trade Frans. With Streit's age and guys like Pedan, Reinhart, and Mayfield to name a few I would not mind moving Streit. I'm not sure about the Islanders wanting to be buyers but we will see. |

This has been my first Islanders game in a few years due to my travel work schedule. Just got back from the game with my two kids and while the Islanders played well in the first period and in some of the third here my observations:
1. You are all right Okposo can't skate. I never saw an NHL player skate like that.
2. Bailey had a great goal, skates very well and he backchecks...
3. Streit and Andy MacDonald are always caught out of position. Both were caught in no mans land and both wound up covering the Devils defensemen at the point. I have been watching hockey for a long time and never saw that. Streit doesn't play defense but is good QBing the power play. I would trade him and get a defensive d-man.
4. Visnovsky is a good defenseman. Hickey isn't bad...at least he tries and stays back, plays defense but small.
5. Nabokov should have been the #1 star instead of Neilsen. I thought he was good.
6. Martin looked like Clark Gilles in the fight. Showed class when he knocked the Devils player out saw that he was hurt and called for the trainer. Wonder if Matt Cooke would do the same.
Good win...and I'll take it...

Very classy move by Martin and he did look like Gillies. I still feel bad about Kostopoulos though. I agree about Streit and Amac. I'm impressed with Bailey and would move KO instead. Vish is very solid and Hickey has done well for a rookie. |

Pominville gets to make a list of 8 teams he won't accept a trade to and well, yeah I pretty much don't have to type anything else. |

Which is like saying he's better than a ferret with a lobotomy when it comes to "inside info". He's still a garbage "rumor" peddler, he just manages to bully anyone that calls him out on his BS by sicking his moronic tweet-tard followers on them. - eichiefs9
I hear ya, I called him out a couple of times, but none of tweeps attacked |

Pominville would be great with JT but he will cost a lot. I would think a 1st rd pick and a top prospect...maybe Nino... |

I imagine he doesn't always do it but I've seen him post people's twitter handles before and order his loser minions to harass them and then brag about getting people to shut their account down. I like how he wants people to believe he has these sources (somehow in every sport there is) when he is a total scum bag publicly. |

You would think. I'd love to add two. One forward and one Dman. |

I'd kills me these guys not wanting to play for the Isles. They do not see the Isles going to Brooklyn with a ton of good young talent and all the Cap room? These players are dumb. They think the Isles are going to be bad forever? |

In fairness, I have no idea if we are on that list. It's just pretty safe to assume that if there is a no-trade list...the Isles are almost always a lock to be on it. |

Was at the game tonight and the Isles roll out a lot of 3rd and 4th line guys getting big minutes...I'd look into Stafford...he would come cheaper tham Jason Pominville.. |

True but I'm tired of players wanting to only go to an instant Cup team and not wanting to work to turn a team around. |

Were.....I'm starting to think that some guys finally CAN actually see what's coming down the pipe here. That said, if I'm talking to Buffalo, I'm talking to them about Vanek, no one else. I like Pominville, but he's a third-line player. We already have 8 of those. We need an ELITE winger for Tavares, and a big boy on the back end, like one of those guys the Devils have who were knocking our guys on their a*ses in the second period last night.
The problem with the Tavares line is that Moulson and Boyes are essentially the same kind of player- they are guys who need space to score, can't play defense worth sh*t, and aren't getting their hands dirty in the corners, not ever. This is why that line has struggled, because they face the other team's checking line, and JT has to pretty much do everything by himself, except blast the puck into an open net. I'd love to see that line with Vanek, and one of our stronger guys to do the work (Cizikas, Martin, maybe even give the kid Lee a shot to see what he has). |

Yeah, you have....Trent Hunter. Trent Hunter apparently had one skate that would only go backwards. That said, I was watching the game with my girlfriend, and I got all excited when a puck came loose going our way, until I realized the closest player was Okposo....all of the other 11 players on the ice would have gotten there before him...including the guys with the pads on...
