If they are going to play in BP then they can be signed to try-out contracts for the rest of the season and then it doesn't count to the 50 - Islesfan28
Really? I know they can sign ATOs, but I thought if they sign an entry level also it counted toward the 50-contract limit. So, for example, Strome has to sign an ATO to play for Bridgeport for the remainder of this season, but does his ELC count toward the 50-contract limit even though it doesn't kick in until next season?

Cool, thanks. So, they could sign Pedan to an ELC that would not kick in until next season, and that would not count toward the 50 limit provided he plays in BPort on an ATO, right? Clearly I haven't passed Contracts 101 yet. |

You hit the nail on the head and the same goes for mayfield, now what I am not sure about is Garth signing Strome to an ATO so a year on his contract doesn't burn here or if he will fall within the min. games so a year doesn't burn. |

Ah, makes sense then. That brings them to 49 contracts I think. If they want to get both Pedan and Mayfield signed, gotta dump someone. - UIF
I would think Reasoner, Boulton, Martinek, Aucoin and maybe Finley won't be on the team next year. I think Streit is gone if he doesn't sign by Wednesday. |

Ryan Clowe has waived his no trade clause (reportedly)...not saying I want him, but he's apparently about to be shopped.
Also hearing Thomas Vanek is available, though this is probably old news |
