No, but let them play....Let the vets go. let couturier get briere minutes and not be stuffed on the fourth line because we have a coach who is afraid to loose his job. - Philly1980
Briere's literally not playing any minutes at all. And as for vets, they're free to leave once the season is over. There's no sense blowing a fuse over trade speculation, literally nothing has happened yet. |

a broken leg is probably better than an A/MCL sprain or a cut tendon. f'ng blows, because talbot was finally coming around.
let's go shopping! - hammarby31
as long as it's not the femur, have there been any details yet?

He's just not the same player anymore. He's not good with the puck, he's not good in his own end, and he doesn't get in front of the net much anymore.
I wouldn't trade any assets for him. - bradleyc4
Wait you mean briere or the other guy? |

Coots, 2nd, 3rd for Clowe and Burns
I wouldn't be happy with this but I wouldn't be all that pissed either. But I doubt the Flyers get Burns unless they give up their 1st which I really don't want to see happen - FreshFlyer
No franking way, Burns isnt even playing D now they've had him at forward! |

Didn't I just read that Burns is bounced around between wing and defense? Sorry, if this is the case, how is he valuable in the deal? I'll admit I don't know much about him, but being bounced between O and D is not exactly a ringing endorsement. Thoughts? - steelydan
Injuries forced that. |

thoughts on lauridsen? - Don'tForgetTocchet
He looks pretty decent for his first two games.
Can erase a guy by taking the body against the wall, and pretty solid shot blocker.
Those parts reminds me of big Nik G-NN. Obviously not as polished but the same type of player.
At times he handles the puck like it's a hand grenade, but I'm guessing that is youth and nerves and lake of experience, etc.
Has potential to be, well, like Grossmann at some point.
And that's not a bad thing! |

Still though, it says to me that he's not one of their top defenseman if they are willing to take him out of his natural position. Prior to "injuries", what pairing was he on, or what was he considered (their #1, 2, 3, 4, etc?) |

The thing that stuck out to me was the refs could call hooking on him every time he's near an opposing player. |

I think it might be a final piece for next year, yes.
You can ask Calgary to take back some of the cap hit to make it more palatable. - bradleyc4
And asking Calgary to keep some of the Cap hit, ups the cost of acquiring Bouwmeester. |

well, there is that, and the "high sticking"
part of it is his size, and being a rook

Personally hope that the Flyers trade Couturier. Guy will be a Selke contender for the majority of his career. Maybe not the most offensively gifted player, but seems to take pride in shutting down an opposing team's top players. |

Speed of the game was probably an adjustment for him. I didn't think he looked horribly out of place or anything. |

Brent Burns play in his own end makes Bruno Gervais look like a shutdown defender. |
