No player in the draft is certain. Furthermore it could take upwards of 5 years for them to reach their potential. The team in no way shape or form needs to tank or forego the chance of making the postseason just to select one player who has played 0 seconds in the big league.

im willing to wait to make sure its down right....its also not "certain" you will make the playoffs....if we dont id rather restock our depleted farm system, so when we do contend or injuries occur, we wont be relying on the likes of lilja, foster, gervais.

As long as there is a salary cap and injuries, those players will always be around. Furthermore if this draft is as deep as you claim then there is no need to tank. Shea weber was not a first round pick. |
