Agree on Voracek. At this point in his career, what does Clowe add to a team that a younger, less expensive McGinn doesn't? That is what I find perplexing. - ravishingone
Well.. the big difference is.. McGinn has scored a goal this year.. and Clowe hasn't... I am still waiting for someone to tell me how that guy is scoreless on SJ..

Nice. I think I'll be relieved when this trade deadline is over. |

Yep
What did Eklund mean by Rosehill BACK to Philly? - MBFlyerfan
I'm sure he was just quoting Bob McKenzie, who first tweeted "PHI trades Harry Zolnierczyk to ANA. Details to follow." and then tweeted "Hearing ANA sends Jay Rosehill back to PHI for Harry Z." |

Nobody is going to think twice about hitting Giroux because Jay Rosehilll is on the roster. Its not 1974 anymore. Its a dumb, backwards thinking move - Jsaquella
I was wondering what this team was missing...

The Flyers would be fine without Rosehill. - stveshdy
Yes, they would. Doesn't change why I think they traded for him.

The Iggy trade may have caused him to reconsider. |

Does the fact that Rosehill is a UFA and Harry is an RFA after this year have any bearing? Does it increase they're tagging space or anything?
Full disclosure - I'm not sure I understand how tagging space works so this could be a really dumb question... - BringBack25
No effect on tagging space.

Unless Rosehill inexplicably lands on the top-line, he's not ever going to be the one standing in for Voracek in response to a hit on G. That's precisely the reason why guys like him and Shelley are irrelevant... they're never on the ice when sh*t happens, and they can't come off the bench or instigate without putting their team down. - Tomahawk
I agree, and I posted this same thing earlier. But what you can do is put the player out in later shifts. And you have him in case a game gets out of hand. I don't agree or disagree with the move. I think it's really going to be a non factor. It's just why I think they traded for him.

So am I correct they could add J-Bo's salary pretty easily. I hope he doesn't do anything rash. |

gentlemen, do you think there would be any interest in jamie mcbain. young, right handed puck moving dman. talk down here in nc is that management seems to want to move in another direction and make him available. he has a reasonable cap hit and might be more interesting than talking about rosehill. |

Briere is not on LTIR. The Flyers will only place another player on LTIR if they have to. No reason to place Coburn on LTIR when Briere is ready to play. |

Right now, the Flyers can take on a player with an AAV of 4,769,879. So they would have to either trade salary in the deal, or place another player such as Coburn on LTIR.

I would think so also. I really don't know much about Rosehill. If he can actually play a little, or if he's just a fighter. - MJL
Rosehill is a goon, horrible skater, fights adequately. He pissed me off when he was with the Leafs, saw a lot of him when they called him up the odd time. I expect he will be in and out of our lineup depending on injuries and who we play. |

Thanks for the info. It sure seems like there might be a major sale going on in Calgary. |
