Anders F-ing Lee. Awesome first game. Team's rolling. Gotta keep it going in WSH. - Jethro09
Anders Lee did a spectacular job in his first game but we can see how he is awkward at defense since it is his first game at PRO. He will get used to it in next few games unless we only see him for six games so his contract wont be used for this year until next year. Let's go Islanders! |

Games in hand have to be won to be meaningful. Right now, one of the rag$ two games in hand is a game against Pittsburgh. - dcb1

Game had nice story lines: Lee's first game and Poulin's first victory this year. Thought he looked more ready than he did in the CAR game.
As far as Streit, if they can make a package to pry Subban from BOS; but would not want to surrender any top prospects. |

Now is the time to trade for Haley. Boulton and a fifth? Would love to have the kid back for a playoff series vs the Pens - mighty13duck

Idk if this means anything but sharp and hossa will be out of the line up thurs night? Or at least that's what they just put across the ticker on tsn trade center. Wonder if there is anything to that? |

the reason haley was buried in bport was his substance abuse issues and his refusal or denial about it and not getting any treatment |

Is there a source for this or is it another "friend of a friend of a trainer's daughter's former babysitter thought she saw DP use steroids" thing. |

this is from a couple of players in the locker room who called them haleys' demons. i then reached out to a friend who worked with Ryan O'marra when he was going through the same thing in bport and he confirmed it. I'm sorry i thought this was widely known. its no secret down here |

I got to talk to the Lee family after the first intermission. What a great family.

It was uncomfortable watching Peter Ruttgazer (sp?) interview them during the game. It was pretty clear he was starting to lose it about halfway through. |

TSN: Dreger also tweeted that Islanders GM Garth Snow has no intention of trading defenceman Mark Streit because there is just a $500,000 gap per year (3 years) in contract talks with his captain.
Three years of Streit...
Bad move. My guess is it'll be another Witt situation...a year or two in we'll be begging for a buyout. |

Saw that. Great journalist that he is he ran out of things to ask after two questions, then just sat there awkwardly when he wasn't pulling the mic away from the mother when she tried to say something. Uncomfortable to say the least. And I thought the guy was awful in the studio. |

Aside from all the positives already mentioned, Carkner played a lot in the 3rd period mast night...and actually looked pretty damn good. Hopefully this is something that can continue down the stretch.
It was nice to see a one-goal lead in the 3rd and us continue to control the flow of play. There wasn't one time in the 3rd where I didn't think we were gonna finish the Jets off. It was a refreshing feeling. |
