If I offered him that, and he turned me down. I wouls trade him to a team in Mongolia. - bixll
I'm sure Cairns has been scouting that region for some time now. |

lets play out scenarios (assuming he isnt resigned today):
-streit is traded, islanders make the playoffs- id say this is ideal!
-streit is traded, islanders dont make the playoffs- sucks, but at least it was a solid season and not another pap situation
-streit isnt traded, islanders make the playoffs- ok but now streit may leave for nothing
-streit isnt traded, islanders dont make the playoffs- poop hits the fan.
i say trade him. i think he is very replaceable, i honestly think hickey can do just as good a job at this point as streit...if donovan is ready id bring him up or if a dman is returned in this "Deal" id play him...i just think his value is WAY overpriced and if this is an opportunity to get a #1 and a prospect/player than garth has to do it - LetsGoIsles
I agree 100% I would trade Streit. His value seems high. If this team falls apart without Steit they have huge problems. |

I'm in the "whatever goes" camp. I think he is replaceable easily, but he is the captain and this is the best they've played all year. If he goes, he goes. |

Who are we talking about, Boyes? I'll back you on that one. He had a horrible game. Ruined virtually every cycle that line had by just pushing the puck to no one when he was under pressure, ruined one odd-man rush by trying to force a bad pass, and ruined another by waiting until he was at the side of the net to shoot, blocked a shot from Tavares that was going into an open net...I could go on for days. The time when he's not first-line right wing can't come soon enough...and I say that while acknowledging that as bad as he is, he's actually better than he was last season, if you can believe that. - UIF
Yes boyes. he sucks!!! |

number 4 is not an option with pitkanen out for the year.. number three is an awful idea.. GUYS NOTHING IS HAPPENING TODAY STOP WITH ALL THIS.... garth is not trading any prospects..if anything happens it reasoner for a late round pick..but streit isn;t going anywhere - NYI78
Agreed...I don't expect any movement today. I'd love to think we'd deal Boyes but the fact that he's getting first line minuest still tells me the team is far from giving up on him. |

Dreger says the Rangers are looking to add a defenseman now.
One thing is for certain, if the Isles don't make a move all the while the Rangers make two moves and somehow edge us out for the 8th spot, there's going to be a lot of 'splainin' to do with Garth.
I'm not saying he should do anything substantial, but turning down the opportunity to improve yourself while your competitiion appears to be doing everything possible certainly can't do much for the image that you want to make the playoffs. |

Better believe it Keaner! No moves by Garth and the team better make the playoffs. |
