My issue is the Flyers facination with no talent hacks like Rosehill. When do they move away from this goon mentality. I would rather have the speed of Harry Z over whatever it is Rosehill brings to the table. - ggunky
The goon mentality has won cups recently. Having someone on your team that is tough and can stand up to anyone else in the league is reassuring.
There are hundreds on Harry Z's in this league. He brings nothing special to the Flyers. Rosehill will at least bring something useful to the Flyers with the conference they play in.
My pediatrician used to give me random needles.. never knew what the (frank) they were, some kind of "health shot". After like 10 of them, I got a new doctor. - mikel33
This sounds like the needle-happy doctor that filled in when our regular was away. Was this needle-sharing fiend in Mount Ephraim on Kings Highway?

It's fine, an opinion was expressed, and the question was answered. According to strict interpretation to the CoC, the conversation should be limited to hockey.
That said, a lot of folks come here to spend time talking to people that have come to "know" over the course of several years and in a lot of cases have personally met and hung out with.
The mods asked once if the community wanted to be free to go off topic and have a rambling sort of experience. It was overwhelmingly in favor of it. That freedom to wander off topic leads to more traffic and comments, which leads to more cash for Eklund.
If I am asked by a mod to knock off talking about OT stuff, fine. But I'm discussing a trade made that was analyzed in the original blog. Rosehill's name is in the headline of it. What the (frank) do people expect to discuss when Rosehill is in the headline of the blog? - Jsaquella

With Talbot out, the Flyers could have used Zolnierczyk as a 4th liner. Every player is an asset. He can be a bit of an agitator and provides good speed. He was a bit of a spark plug for the Flyers this year. Rosehill is a flat out goon. There's literally nothing he does but fight the other team's goon.
I don't mind so much trading Zolnierczyk as I do in adding an player whose talent level is ECHL, but who is in the NHL because he can fight. - Jsaquella
Are almost killing people and suspensions included in the "spark plug" role? Did you see a Russian league player was killed by a check similar to Harry Z's hits...
If you want speed on the 4th line... Wellwood. More defense on the 4th line Holmstrom. If you need more grit, Rosehill. More talent overall, McGinn.
Not enough sleep last night?
Someone switch your coffee with decaf? - Scoob
dont drink coffee, slept fine. but if i was to go onto say a sabres board, and they were ripping a useless trade for 24 hours, i'd make fun of them too. discussing harry z for 24 hours is exactly the kind of thing that makes other sports fans hate philly fans.
Exactly what do you give up for a guy like that....you cant trade a package based on potential anymore, but he is still a top four guy, but not a great top four guy...ugh I dont know - nonpoint22

It really isn't, and you really shouldn't worry what other fans think of us. Especially Pittsburgh fans, their opinion of us and our area is null and void.

Please put the board on your shoulders and talk about something new and exciting with the Flyers. I'm all for it.

The fact is that Zolnierczyk provided some solid fourth line play when he was up. Flyers went 4-1 in games he played I believe.
I'm not bemoaning the loss of Zolneirczyk, more criticizing two aspects of the mentality:
1. Making a knee jerk trade based on a perceived hole that doesn't really exist
2. The philosophy that says that an enforcer stops other teams from taking liberties.

Then bring up another topic, rather than complaining and name calling.
