dont drink coffee, slept fine. but if i was to go onto say a sabres board, and they were ripping a useless trade for 24 hours, i'd make fun of them too. discussing harry z for 24 hours is exactly the kind of thing that makes other sports fans hate philly fans. - flyershockey
It's more about the potential trade that is coming and hoping it makes more sense than the Rose for Z trade.
Simple. |

Wisdom teeth extraction? - Scoob
Yes. I suffered a sinus communication and it is nasty. Caused an infection in my sinus, all of which I self-diagnosed over the weekend because the office was closed for the holiday. I also self-medicated with the pain relievers and Sudafed to clean out the sinus. I ran out of antibiotic yesterday (and knew I was going to), so I left work early to visit the dentist (as the surgeon is out of town until Wednesday) so I could get more/stronger antibiotics.
Unfortunately, the pressure was so bad last night I stayed home today and forsook the high-intensity Ibuprofen for the Vicodin. Finally got to sleep around 4:45 AM.
Just finished breakfast and took more meds. |

My head is under pressure and under Vicodin's influence. I'm not going to be grokking sarcasm and wit much.
Please keep it simple for me.

it makes more sense than discussing harry z. i've never seen tyler myers play a good game, hes clumsy on his skates and awkward in his movements. i like vanek but not at the cap hit, he wouldn't make sense to bring on. |

I missed Mike Maneluk more when he was traded than Harry Z. And I liked Harry Z. |

The fact is that Zolnierczyk provided some solid fourth line play when he was up. Flyers went 4-1 in games he played I believe.
I'm not bemoaning the loss of Zolneirczyk, more criticizing two aspects of the mentality:
1. Making a knee jerk trade based on a perceived hole that doesn't really exist
2. The philosophy that says that an enforcer stops other teams from taking liberties. - Jsaquella
But #2 is true. Players know that if they take liberties at Giroux, Rosehill will immediately propel himself off the bench, throw off his gloves (really, does he even need them or a stick?), roar like a wolf out of Valhalla, and attempt to curl his hands into tight balls and thrust them towards the offender's face. After which the offender's team will have something like a 45-minute PP. Total deterrent. |

The goon mentality has won cups recently. Having someone on your team that is tough and can stand up to anyone else in the league is reassuring.
There are hundreds on Harry Z's in this league. He brings nothing special to the Flyers. Rosehill will at least bring something useful to the Flyers with the conference they play in. - flyers2001
Which recent Cup winner had a goon like Rosehill, who actually dressed regularly, especially in the playoffs? Even teams like Anaheim and Boston, who play physical hockey, didn't employ an out and out goon. The one possible name is Parros with the Ducks, and he didn't play but 1 game in the playoffs. |

Ugh, that sucks. Sorry to hear. I hope it clears up for you soon.
I had all four of mine extracted on the 7th of last month. My recovery was smooth. Never touched the oxycodone. I didn't even want to fill that prescription but my wife insisted just in case. I understand her thought process but we ended up flushing it once I knew I wouldn't need it. |

Are almost killing people and suspensions included in the "spark plug" role? Did you see a Russian league player was killed by a check similar to Harry Z's hits...
If you want speed on the 4th line... Wellwood. More defense on the 4th line Holmstrom. If you need more grit, Rosehill. More talent overall, McGinn. - leon neon
Agreed. Non one is saying that the Flyers "won" the Harry Z-Rosehill trade. What most of us are saying is..."Who cares?". Neither player are/were likely to make any impact on this team. Harry Z had multiple chances to crack the lineup, and for whatever reason (discipline, suspension, dog-house, etc.) ; he never became a regular for the lineup. It may be reactionary on the Flyers' part, but the ultimate question is: "Who cares?". Whether it reactionary, logical, fiscal, or just the spin of a wheel; the fact of the matter is that it doesn't affect the Flyers. Some people like to complain for the sake of complaining. Believe me, this really doesn't require your time or effort. There are plenty of bad moves/bad hockey ahead of us. |

When those moves come, I guarantee you, they will be discussed. Seeing as this is a Flyers blog, the most recent Flyers news is being discussed. At the moment, that news is the Harry Z trade. So it is the topic being discussed most.
Should have traded Harry Z for a guy more like Rosehill. |

Glad I dropped by Allow me to explain..
Myers was horrid the first month of the season and admitted to his teammates that he had the conditioning of an obese 85 year old woman when the season started. Since then his game has really turned around and is making better decision with the puck (though you'll find the occasional gaff here and there). He's starting to find a balance between his offense and defense (i.e pinching and getting back) and it's lead him to be much better (though he would still benefit from a really good defense first partner, like Timmonen ) . I'd argue that aside from the stats being pitiful his overall play is finally creeping back to his calder trophy year.
And yea, not sure why you guys would want Vanek, Holmgren knows the cap is going down right? |
