When I'm on my phone, I don't read so much as go through the names/avatars and stop on my favorites/ones whose opinions I value. It's easier to catch up that way. If nothing's going on that piques my interest, I'll skip posting altogether for a bit until I feel there's a convo worth getting into.
I find it funny in age of "tolerance" how intolerant people are. - Flyskippy
I'm stuck on a couch and bored out of my mind. I have a cold in addition to the PCS, so I can't really go out, and honestly with the TDL approaching, I'd rather stay and watch NHLN and twitter to see what goes on. |

Please do elaborate (no but seriously I'm curious) - Sabresfan-365
Paul Holmgren has been known to acquire/award players with big $$/long term contracts, and then when necessary, trade them away for less than market value. Recent example is JvR who, while Schenn has been fine on D, could have probably fetched more. Gagne is another example. I like him, but he sometimes comes off as a react first and deal with the consequences later (i.e. Pronger's over 35 contract). |

Well.. you better, as a GM, have more sense than to hope a low pick nets you a Cup win in a few years' time. There are many teams to get good players in the early portions of the first rounds over the last 20 years that haven't sniffed a deep Cup run. - Flyskippy
Hope is one thing, expectations are another. I'm desperate for something to root for, lol. |

I just had this image of a cartoon Holmgren jumping up and down on a cardboard box (with various limbs escaping) screaming. "GET IN THE BOX!" |

My wife's back has been aching since baby-to-be's gotten bigger, so the sleeper couch has been a godsend. We both get to sleep without fear of bumping the other person.
I've foolishly retreated to the basement after eating breakfast late, because the cool air helps the nose/sinuses feel better, but when the Vicodin kicks in I might be crawling upstairs, literally, to go lie down.
If that happens, I'll switch to Twitter just to keep half-an-eye on trade proceedings. |

I see, kinda like what I do in NHL 13 . In all seriousness though even if the cap isn't an issue I just don't see how a deal could be made for Vanek between the two teams. Myers maybe but Vanek highly unlikely...unless a third team is inolved |

I wasn't really going there (I'm a die hard). I'm talking roster wise. I'd love to see a young kid develop into a number one D here.. be fun to watch. |

I'm so envious of your aggressive of GM who doesn't give a rats ass about the cap. - Sabresfan-365
It has good and bad moments. He's unpredictable - which makes it exciting sometimes and infuriating others. He's respected and hated by other GMs... When the league makes up rules to stop your GM specifically from doing things then you know that he really gives a poop.
I personally like Holmgren we could be much worse off. |
