I'm sorry, I had to post this trade proposal from the Vancouver board:
Higgins, Jensen, Booth, Ballard, Lu for Couturier, Hartnell, Schenn twins, and Simmonds
- TheNugeIsHuge - Orpik44
Must have been a Rocket Scientist who posted that on his break. |

Sense of impending doom feeling right now.
The losing games in the short season I can handle for some reason.
Clowe for a 1st rounder or a viable young forward I can't. - Marc D[/img]
Yep. I'm good with writing this off and trying over again next year with a full camp, etc.
If things still are status quo, you can always rip it up in December. |

Adding Clowe only begins to make sense if you speculate that the Flyers plan to trade Simmonds or Hartnell in a deal to add a defenseman. Otherwise, I agree. let's see what McGinn can do. - MJL
Trading Hartnell might make some sense based on the return.
But Simmonds should not be moved, just love everything about his game and he is going to get a lot better. Feel the same way about Voracek.
The only place you would think about a Simmonds deal would be if you had the possibility of a top #1 D man coming from the other side. |

C'mon that's not right.
You should at least toss in Rosehill. |

I hope any and all deals Homer is considering fall apart unless a top defenseman is part of the trade, and that seems very unlikely as we head into the POs. |

Harry Z's deal runs out after this Season also. So the deal was not made to clear a salary slot in the off seasons. It was done to add some toughness to the lineup in response to the last couple of games with Giroux being targeted. - MJL
Don't we want them to NOT make reactionary deals? I understand that, in the long run, it's a minor deal, but this team should be making deals based on some internal game plan.
I just don't like Rosehill, it's that simple. Didn't like him when he made his debut, and never thought he was that good of a fighter. But, as long as he's not signed to a 3-year deal making $1.1M per year, it's not that big. |

hours later I still hate the Harry Z move. I get that he is Harry Z. we are not talking about a regular. I get that he has little finish. but quite frankly I rather have a young guy who is still under control (RFA) with little finish who has blazing speed for a guy who is a slug/fighter who has no finish. - nastyflyergirl
I refuse to care about this trade. Harry Z is an AHL talent. |

What scares me about the Clowe deal is if say a d man was coming with like a Boyle or even Burns , then they would of sat them last night but that wasnt the case so I doubt defense help is coming with him |

I am a big fan of what Holmgren has done. This is going to be a very good team for a long time. They only have two essential needs at this point. They need a #1 Dman and a reliable backup goalie who can take every 4th or 5th game and get you a few wins over the season. |

Nick Kypereos of sportsnet reported that it might be a 3 team deal which is why it is taking so long to complete, so maybe flyers are part of a Ryane Clowe trade and are not getting Ryane Clowe.....just a thought - nonpoint22
If you're referring to the below tweet, I interpreted it as meaning that there are 3 parties involved: the Sharks, the Flyers, and Clowe because of his NTC/NMC. Not that there's a 3rd team involved. Even though if the Flyers are in on this deal, I pray we're the 3rd team.
Nick Kypreos @RealKyper
Status quo #Sharks Clowe despite talk this one could have been done. 3-party deal w/ 2 teams+player lends a slower process. #TradeTracker |

Well then they would have to throw in Mason Raymond which would make the deal totally lopsided in our favor |

Its nice to see the Flyers add Rosehill. The east is stacked with teams that play tougher guys every night.
With Rinaldo playing solid on a 3rd line checking role, the Flyers can use a solid guy to intimidate and enforce when necessary. |

With St. Louis just getting Bouwmeester and Leopold, any chance we could get a guy like Jackman or Russell? Probably not, but just wondering. |

Both teams that aquired defensemen last night have too many so anything is possible, but i think they are taking the adage you can never have too many defensemen come playoff time |

Probably the case, it was just a thought.
Also, I finally figured out the Rosehill trade.
The Flyers got Marty Biron is 06/07, and he was Danny Briere's best friend in Buffalo. So when Briere became a UFA, his ex teammate helped lure him to Philadelphia.
It is very clear that Rosehill is to BOB RYAB what Biron was to Briere. BOB RYAB FTW for Harry Z. |

Or, if they get him via a steal deal... Highly unlikely since other teams are in the chase. The only reason why I think the Flyers are after him, is that, he's been on their radar for a while. You have to grab desired players when available. I agreed however, Clowe would be redundant with the current roster. |

Homer's made some very good moves, and taken some big swings and whiffed, but this season, with this team, going after Clowe just doesn't make sense. If it's part of a bigger deal, I suppose we'll all know soon enough. |
