Anyone know anything about these guys? - johndewar
MacDermid was already on the Bruins active roster... tough kid with decent hands, will fall into the role of goon who can play (Scott Thornton-ish).
Payne's really a project/fringe prospect. |

Payne's an intriguing kid, really blossomed this year. Both are mid-level prospects, similar to what Calgary got for Iginla |

Neal already had 3 20-goal seasons under his belt at the time of the deal.
Golisgoski's been up and down, a healthy scratch at times.
That deal set them way back in the same way the Erik Johnson trade set the Avs back. Both those clubs would be in PO position today if they had stuck with what they had. - Tomahawk
I just don't think he becomes the players he does if he stays with Dallas. He doubles his shot output and triples the # of PP goals after the move. That's how you go from being a 25 goal scorer to a 40 goal scorer. All with the help of a guy named Malkin. |

They're both big wingers who project to be a fighter and a power forward. Both 4th liners. Mcdermid was on the roster but is really an AHL player at this point. The other kid is still in the OHL. |

They have Lauridsen and Huskins around, but why not Danny Syvret at this point..
Kurtis Foster will not be missed. - johndewar
Because Syvret isn't really much more than a bubble guy. Rather see Manning, despite his struggles. |

My friend is a Bruins nut, but he is objective. He follows their minor leagues he's been up to Providence for a bunch of games, he said the guys they gave up are basically career minor league players. |

So Foster on waivers.... Interesting must mean Grossmann is ready to go.
When another Dman goes down Wednesday night, I guess it will be Syvret time. - PLindbergh31
Just because Foster is on Waivers, doesn't mean that he's no longer going to be with the team. |

Neal's been scoring with or w/o Malkin.
Would lining up next to Jamie Benn really be that big of a step down? |

Yes. And When Neal hasn't been scoring with Malkin he has been scoring with Crosby.
Neal was goalless for 9 games before Malkin got back and he potted one. |

Payne might squeak into the Flyers top ten.
The pick in the Jagr deal could become a 1st, based on playoff performance, per Jimmy Murphy of ESPN Boston |

I think those times are past and he is focused on the present to be honest. That said, I would love to see him with BOS play PIT in the POs this year. Would be a good subplot with all the Iggy stuff. |

Neal had 21 goals in 59 games in his last season in Dallas. Thats a 30 goal pace.. without Crosby or Malkin.. and in his third season. |

Yeah, but if the Bruins go far, it might as well be a 2nd round pick. |

Yeah, but Dallas got basically the same return for a one year rental as Calgary got for their franchise player |

@RealRocket22: Flyer fans !! Getting Jagr , Vanek , Iginla or Clowe for short term and give up a bunch of young guys and picks is not the right way !!agree except vanek he can help for years to come |

Even though nothing was given up for Huskins, should have just waited for waivers. Guys like Montador and Barker were waived today. Rather have either one of those guys. - PLindbergh31
Wow, how far they have fallen out of grace. What's the deal on those two? |

I'm looking at 78 games played and 27 goals in his last season with Dallas
