they didn't overpay but they didn't get a bargain. Seems like a fair deal to me. I definitely don't look at it and say man, Clowe is exactly what they needed to turn things around and be a serious contender. But who knows, maybe things will click for him and them. Hopefully not though.

So I see tweets about how Kiprusoff is willing to waive his NTC to go to Toronto as long as he receives a contract extension and more money next season (for which he is already under contract for). How exactly can he get more money for next season under the CBA? This may be a stupid question, but would a signing bonus that counts against his extension's cap hit be given immediately or when then the extension kicks in?

We are 15th in goals per game and 25th in goals allowed. I don't think we'll be adding a top line winger.

I could see Vanek, but doubt Gaborik because he'd likely have been part of this deal, no? Should be interesting to see.
