We are 15th in goals per game and 25th in goals allowed. I don't think we'll be adding a top line winger. - hereticpride

So I see tweets about how Kiprusoff is willing to waive his NTC to go to Toronto as long as he receives a contract extension and more money next season (for which he is already under contract for). How exactly can he get more money for next season under the CBA? This may be a stupid question, but would a signing bonus that counts against his extension's cap hit be given immediately or when then the extension kicks in? - five4fighting10
Signing bonus is paid when he signs the contract. |

The one 2nd is conditional if he re-signs if not it's a 3rd rounder - ob18
Massive overpayment by the Rangers. Getting Clowe for a similar package that Holmgren gave up for Kubina's corpse. |

Quick question. What has been more beneficial for Columbus?
The return they got for their franchise player Rick Nash, or the return they got for giving up a second round pick? |

I wonder if he is re signed by them.. either way it's a lot for a zero goal scorer.. I am glad we are going to hold onto our picks.. we're either going to miss the playoffs or barely make them and get massacred first round. |

I didn't want the Flyers to go after Clowe, but the Rags gave up very little to get him. |

Looks like Clowe to the Rangers is done..
http://www.sportsnet.ca/ - Hextall271
Ryane Clowe has waived his no-trade clause and agreed to be traded to the New York Rangers for a second-round pick and a conditional third-round pick, according to multiple media reports. The third rounder becomes a second-round pick if Clowe, scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent, re-signs with the Rangers. TSN's Bob McKenzie reported earlier Tuesday that the Rangers and Canucks were the last two teams in on Clowe, who has not scored a goal this season. If the package the Sharks received is true, then San Jose did a nice job of securing future assets for a player that's not producing and was unlikely to return in the offseason.

I'd like to see the flyers get involved in a hockey trade there involving coburn or grossman. Damn these injuries!! |

If the Flyers had given up two 2nds for Clowe this thread would have gone nuclear. |

It is pretty funny that a team that can't score just traded for a guy with no goals.

Yeah, he's not a fit for the Flyers. I want no part of him. I figured he would net a better return.
I mean Holmgren gave up a similar package last year for Kubina, who was useless as tits on a nun. |

Conflicting reports on the picks it seems...
"The San Jose Sharks have traded forward Ryane Clowe to the New York Rangers in exchange for two second-round picks and a third-round pick, reports TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com. The trade is pending paper work and a call to the NHL's front office. One of the second-round picks is conditional on Clowe re-signing with the Rangers or winning two playoff series. The pick becomes a fifth-round selection if neither of the two comes to fruition." -TSN |

I personally think the Flyers have enough players like Clowe (Hartnell & Simmonds). I would like the Flyers to add another player who can skate (speed) and has playmaking ability with the puck. |

Good move to not waste pieces for Clowe. The Flyers have more crucial needs, and need to spend cap space more wisely.

Looks like they got a 2nd and 3rd guaranteed and possibly another 2nd or a 5th conditionally. two 2s and a 3 is pretty good for a goalless forward. |
