Flyers are still in the playoff race. They won't be selling off any players. To top it off, there's no one on this roster that will net a decent draft pick, at least no one that they'd be willing to part with.
Time to enjoy the Flyers and the potential in front of them... - steelydan
So was San Jose in the west but they've sold off some pieces for picks. |

According to The Fourth Period, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren has "kicked the tires" on Ducks forward Bobby Ryan, Sabres forward Thomas Vanek
Huh. Vanek. Interesting.
*AUTHOR'S NOTE: In no way does the author of this text believe either of the aforementioned players will be acquired and will play for the Flyers. The author is merely posting this as a discussion idea, and is intrigued at the Vanek notion, as he hasn't heard any correlation between the Flyers, Sabres, and Vanek. The author partially believes this falls under the "the best trade is the one you don't make" Department, but it's something to talk about. |

He was held out of the lineup tonight to prevent a trade killing injury - Jsaquella
I don't watch enough Carolina games to know if he is even that good. |

Well Pitt losing their cool here. They will be outted in the playoffs I like Montreal To do it |

mcbain fire sale may be off, pitkanen being taken off on a stretcher from contact on an icing touch up, probably a knee injury, looks to be in a great deal of pain.

Whoever sai sometimes the best move is no move made a lot of sense. if I thought the Flyers could pickup a high 3rd rounder for what they are willing to trade then go for it. Highly unlikely at this point. - jstross
I find it a little weird that there has been nothing on the Briere injury situation. They said he had a concussion and ever since nothing has been said.
Part of me still wouldnt be too shocked to see him traded. Maybe he is closer than we think. |

Flyers aren't deep enough at any position to sell off pieces for picks. Unless defenseman on IR are considered a commodity, because we have those in multitude. Are they "in" now? |

right now, even though pittsburgh is on a 15 game winning streak i like montreal to beat them in a 7 game series, they just seem so much faster than anyone they play and i'll take price over fluery/vokun any day. |

I think the odds of Briere being traded were slim to start with if he was healthy. Even less now.

I would rather they win as much as they can, and go as deep as they can. Even if just for the experience.
Under no situation would I like to see the team end off the year in a complete tailspin. It will be good for the kids to work through this a bit and be part of a bit of a turn-around, before the season ends.

I didnt see too many teams being interested, but thought Montreal might give him a shot.
Dont think Phoenix would be really selling right now, but would you be comfortable getting a head jump on Boyd Gordon if the price is cheap? Wouldn't mind a move like that. |
