Even with the wins in the last two games, they should have been cautious buyers. Only make moves that don't cost a ton of youth, or if they did cost youth that either brought in youth or at least guys who could be a piece of the puzzle for several years.
At the same time, they could sell. But their most attractive items are hurt. They have some nice bargain basement pieces in Fedotenko, Gagne and Knuble, but they're not going to get much more than mid round picks, even if they are moved. - Jsaquella
Even if they got a third for Rusty. That coupled with our high third should get us another second rounder. No reason to not make these moves. |

except he hasn't shown anything but some promise since he was drafted in '07. - isaiah520
I'd still roll the dice on him. Only 24, has a lot of upside yet. |

You don't trade prospects for picks. They should be selling, but the guys that could get a decent return are all hurt |

Timonen isn't hurt and would be a huge add for a playoff run. |

Pretty sure that he's got a NMC, and isn't going to waive it, nor do the Flyers seem willing to move him.
And he's been playing hurt for awhile. |

10th time in MLB history. Two still ended in no hitters(one walk, one a hit batsman). One was ended with a home run.
Last time before tonight? Mike Mussina of the Yankees had his perfecto broken up by Carl Everett.
EDIT: Oops, Galaraga lost his last season on the blown call by Jim Joyce - Jsaquella
That Galarraga situation was really just wonderful. It really was.
Meanwhile, in the NFL, coaches and players alike are throwing referees under the bus and verbally abusing them....
Jimmy was in tears both after the game and when Armando brought out the lineup card before the next night's game.
Heartwarming, really.... |
