With Talbot out, the Flyers could have used Zolnierczyk as a 4th liner. Every player is an asset. He can be a bit of an agitator and provides good speed. He was a bit of a spark plug for the Flyers this year. Rosehill is a flat out goon. There's literally nothing he does but fight the other team's goon.

I don't mind so much trading Zolnierczyk as I do in adding an player whose talent level is ECHL, but who is in the NHL because he can fight.

Exactly. Say Rosehill is on the team on Sunday night. He's not going to be out on a line with Giroux. So Voracek is still going to do what he did. He's not sitting there going...Hmmm, well we got Rosehill...

Rinaldo is more of a deterrent. All you do is make it clear that if Giroux gets unfairly handled, that the other team's star player will be getting a visit from Rinaldo. That's more effective than Rosehill banging his knuckles off the other team's goon's head.

Speaking of Rinaldo, it annoys the poop out of me that he seems to play much less in the second half of any given game when compared to the first, even though he's hitting everything in site, causing turnovers, chaos, and sometimes earning a man advantage for his team.

He needs to get a new contract and have an increased role next season, imo. I could see him as a solid PKer ala Talbot, Feds, etc.

Is Sestito better? Based on his lack of play, there was something that the Flyers management didn't like about him. Sestito may not be capable of playing a more refined agitator/goon role, like Rinaldo. Sestito had a lot of dumb penalties. Let's see what Rosehill brings.

(Rosehill may just be a better lockroom guy, ability to play defense in practice - like Shelley, and have excellent popcorn serving ability to bring Mr Clarke his game corn...)

Rosehill and Sestito are a wash, IMO.

Sestito theoretically brings more talent to the table, but he's got the IQ and processing power of a turnip. He's also not a very adept fighter despite his size.

Rosehill is just as useless, but at least he's some semblance of a brain in there. And he can win a fight every now and then.

He wouldn't be as effective playing 13-15 minutes, but there's games where he plays 5-7 minutes. He should be getting 10-12 minutes a night. He provides energy, he gets the team fired up with his hitting and he draws penalties.

If you have a third/fourth liner getting you a PP every game, he's doing a great job.
