Columbus has apparently made the Kings' 1st rounder available for offensive help. Not sure what we would have to spare that's worth a 1st... - tangent_man
Nothing the Flyers would want to move, and nothing I'd want to see moved for that pick. |

Yeah, that's why I mentioned 'spare'. If they stand pat today, it's fine with me.

You made the statement, not me. Back it up. Who are all the people who are fooled? Most people simply root for their team, and want them to play well. Maybe you mistake fans hoping their team can make the playoffs, for being fooled.

Bill, have to ask. What do you make of ek constantly linking the Flyers to Luongo. Obvious answer is generating hits for the site, just wanted your take since you consider ek a friend. - ukeman
Luongo to Philly makes no sense to me, unless it's as an UFA after he and Bryzgalov have both being bought out. |

Gotta think a contender looking for grit and pk help would give up a 3rd for Fedotenko. I would also think someone would also give upa 3rd for Gagne and maybe a 6th for Knuble. I would probably keepknuble for thevexperience and locker room presence and move the other 2. |

As much as I would truly LOVE to see this team add a major piece for the future.. the TDL is not the time it will happen. So what are my expectations for today? Well, the Flyers will make a minor move after putting their name out there several times. They will probably trade a pick, and then go into tonights game with the same NHL squad. They will win again tonight... and have everybody fully in lets make the playoffs mode.
As for wanting them to make the playoffs vs lose out.... I want them to battle incredibly hard, but have a string of terribly unfortunate bounces go against them and have them lose out. Lets face it.. this is not a cup team. At all. If there was ever a season for them to tank.. and get a good pick.. this is the year. Lock out shortened season? CHECK! Incredibly strong draft class with top end talent through the top 5-10? CHECK! Zero chance at them being a cup winning team? CHECK! |

I can see a 3rd for Rusty. I think a 3rd for Gagne is pushing it though. 4th or 5th for him. Sounds about right. 5th or 6th for Knuble. |

If Phoenix's price on Yandle comes down, perhaps they add a major piece. But it has to be a long term deal. No picks for veterans today.
If anything, I'd be OK if they claimed Mike Sanotrelli on waivers and then traded Fedotenko and Knuble, calling up Wellwood and riding out the season. |

Considering thevRangers just moved 2 2nds and a 3rd for a guy with 0 goals, I figured someone thinon the wing would move a 3rd for Gagne, but I could live with a 4th |

I just look at Phillys history on TDL... not much activity on the actual day. I think Yandle's price will be considerably higher now than it will be in July. If it somehow does come down to say.. Matt Read and a 2nd... I say go for it.. but anything more and I wait. |

If someone said before the season started on trade deadline day that the Flyers would be 6 points behind the Fishsticks, I would ask what planet are they from.
Flyers have no pieces to trade as shockingly they are all injured, and they shouldn't be buyers unless it helps them beyond this year.
I guess the hope is it's a quiet deadline, and nothing dumb happens. Just let the season play out and reload on July 1. |

I don't think PHX is going to take Read for Yandle. Read only has one more year under contract before he is a UFA. |

I'm not even sure I'd move more than Read for him. He's a good offensive guy, but I still have issues with the average defensive play and lack of physicality. |

Yandle is Paul Coffey, when he played for the Flyers.

I want them to battle to the end. As unlikely as the playoffs might be, I want the team, especially the kids, to battle to the end. - Jsaquella
Exactly. Have to find out what kind of character these guys have for next year. |
