Laughton looked impressive with his short stint, but don't they all. Same Flyers mold...defensive and gritty with offensive potential.

Richards
Downie
Couturier
Laughton

Same old recycling.

- Glak18

They are obviously good at identifying those guys and getting them up. Unfortunately, they can't seem to draft D men in that mold.

Hall is a nice pickup. Flyers have been awful on faceoffs.
- jstross

Yeah congrats you picked up another 13th forward.

The Flyers have been reduced to picking up other teams garbage, because their own farm system is in shambles.

It's the "Rivalry Game" on NBCSN.

BTW: I hope they continue that next year. Love the 7:30 Wednesday rivalry game.

Couturier was listed as the #1 rated guy at one point. Honestly I don't see him as recycling. and as far as Richards, he was taken in a draft where they took skill in Carter. Carter and Richards was a heck of a haul in one draft.

Speaking in general terms of picking the "FLYERS TYPE" of player...always gotta get the next Bobby Clarke. They haven't realized Bobby Clarke doesn't build stanley cup teams now.

Yup. Worth the waiver gamble for the faceoffs alone, especially with the way they have been on the dot since...well since Jim Dowd or maybe Blair Betts was manning the 4th line. If it doesn't work...oh well...waive him again. Nothing lost.

I like what Homer is doing. Hall takes the loss of Talbot a tiny bit easier to deal with. It's most likely only for the year. He is doing moves to keep the season alive, but not moving young strong pieces for guys that ony help this year
- Deasr1

I agree. I mean, with all of the injuries he has brought in Huskins and Hall for a conditional pick that most likely won't be met. free bandaides.

Hall is useless. I don't want to hear, hey the won a few games and they think they can be the 8th seed. You have to be a total Moron to think thisteam has a shot to win the cup which is the goal.

Hall does nothing Wellwood couldn't do.

just run with that till this year from hell is over.

Just get in ... you never know what will happen.

hell, when we sneaked in via a shootout vs the Rangers, did anyone really think we'd end up within a couple of wins of the Cup?

Who cares? The cost is negligible. So long as no dumb trades are made that cost us young roster players, I'm good.

this tells you what they think of the guys on the farm.

Also, if you think McGinn is a scorer in the future, does it do him any good to play 4th line checking minutes on the big club instead of first line and PP in the A?

They brought Gagne in to do that, at his age and injury history still shows he is better than pretty much everyone on the team.
- Glak18

Gagne can still play. Podein cannot. He can coach, was my point.

Could of had Dougie Hamilton, although I don't blame them for picking Coots, Hamilton would be much better for this team. Look through the history of drafting and I see players they should of taken at the time of the draft that still urk me.

if one of the vets are moved today I can see McGinn being slotted on the 3rd line.

If we sneak in, we'll have Grossmann back and maybe one of Coburn/Meszy. Briere is likely in for the playoffs, where he thrives.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Flyers got swept in the first round, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they made a run. You just don't know.

Not running Claude Giroux into the ground during a lost season.
- bradleyc4

G leads the league in number of faceoffs taken. If Hall gives him a break for the rest of this season, he was worth picking up.

Hall wins 55% of his faceoffs. He finished 4th in the NHL in faceoffs won in his last full season played.

Not a completely useless pickup for a team that sukks at the dot.

Well there lies another problem. You have third line players playing on the second line and so forth.

I just think Homer is stuck in between whether he wants to play this year or not.
