Have you been able to watch any games this year or are you just a box score kinda guy?
I've been seeing a lot of inconsistent and lack of production through out the year from especially ALL 3. Best of those mentioned has been Voracek, even with the enormous amount of turnovers in the offensive zone. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of Jake, then again I was told I was stupid because I wanted to trade down in 2007 get an asset and draft Voracek. Go figure. - Glak18
Have they been producing, yes or no? Do the players I mentioned show a lot of promise and potential by how they played this year? Yers or no? Do the Flyers have a strong base of young talent to build on? Yes, or no? |

his 2.9 ends this year (2 months) we only pay him like a third of that, then he is a rfa who will take a huge pay cut - mydoglicks
Mason makes 3.2 and the Flyers have to qualify him at 3.2 mill if they want to retain his rights. Mason can choose to be a free agent rather than take a pay cut to stay with the Flyers. He may take a pay cut but the Flyers have zero leverage in negotiations. |

It's my guess that Mason will get every opportunity to prove he can regain his rookie form and if he does, that the Flyers will exercise the buyout on Bryzgalov and sign Ray Emery(or similar time splitting type) and go with him and Mason as the goalies next season. - Jsaquella
I think people are reading to much in this....I still feel Bryz stays next year |

Why would he take a huge paycut? His Q offer alone is going to be equal to what he makes right now. - MJL
idk then, either the sign him and buyout bryz, or trade/let him walk...if he makes 3 and is a rfa, he cannot take a lesserdeal then 3 mil per? |

And the goalie carosel continues. Ironic that the flyers trade away bob for no reason and take a risk on another guy.
The flyers have no (frank)ing clue when it comes to goalies. - feelingkettle
Just goalies?? |

How many of you think that Bryz might face a buy out and Mason is the stop gap? |

As RFA making 2.9M, to qualify him they have to give him a raise.
Unless they think Mason is a starter that is better then Bryz, the deal is highly questionable to me.
Mason is young, but he's regressed.
Philly's team D is not going to help him get better.
If they re up with Mason and keep Bryz they have like 8M in cap hits for the goalies.
It doesn't make any sense to me. - Marc D
Mason regressed however so have many other young goalies and they have regained their form. Carey Price wasn't very good for the Habs after his rookie season and look where he is now. Goalies are weird, I think the change of scenery will be good for Mason. |

Not a big deal, Mason's current deal is over after this season and will most likely be signed for much less than his current contract. I don't think that giving Mason a chance to recapture his form is a bad thing and the change of scenery could be all Mason needs to get back to were he was. - FreshFlyer
assuming the flyers want to keep him, and assuming he would take less. otherwise, we just gave up a 3rd round pick for no reason.
would have been nice to just be patient with a talented young goalie and see what happens. |

To me it says that both Bryz and Briere (if his concussions heal) are both amnestied this summer. And they use that money to try and sign some defensive upgrades.

I mean....I guess I can't complain with Mason. He's not going to threat Bryz, but he's more capable of a backup than either Leighton or Boosh, in my opinion.
Adam Hall? What do we think?
Psyched Ben Bishop got dealt. It'll help out my fantasy teams
Who saw the Jackets going after Gaborik!! Wow. Didn't see that coming. I think that they might have won that trade too....THAT hasn't happened in a while |

I'd like that fly on the GM's wall to tell me if Homer made a decent effort to obtain Bishop.

Most likely and that is what they need Defense so I definitely see the point of what they are doing. |

Agreed. Bryz needs a little bit of help.
Just a capable backup move and nothing more, I think. |

If they do that because they think Mason is the answer I will be dumbfounded. |

well the deadline passes....they didn't sell as I had hoped but at least they didnt move their first or second rounder or any of their kids.....for now of course. rather not have moved the 3rd for Mason but whatever at this point. we all have been female doging about the lack of a backup. yes the cap hit is brutal
for the person who said they prefered the Bishop trade, who would you have moved in place of Conacher from the Flyers roster? Read? no thanks |

Reportedly, the price on Bishop was too high for Philadelphia. |
