With Brennan, he went to Florida for a 5th rounder. I'd have been all over that.

It's just funny that so many people swoon over Bobby Ryan, but TJ Brennan is a local guy and nobody knows or gives a poop.

- Jsaquella

I wonder if that is a case of a team, buffalo in this case, not really shopping a guy and maybe not being interested in moving him to the Flyers. Definitely would have flipped a 5th for him. Cohen and Tangradi also went in that draft. all local kids

The most I would do for Bishop right now is a 2nd and Gusty.

They would also need to figure out what to do with Bryz and Danny Briere by that point.

Yeah, if Tangradi's skating was as good as his hands, he'd be a solid player. As it is....

Brennan's my favorite of that lot. He's got work to do in his own end, but he's got a bomb and skates well. Part of that trade was that Dineen had Brennan in the AHL

I wouldn't even do that. If I'm trading a 2nd rounder for an Ottawa goalie, I want Lehner.

Adding Bishop, gives you flexibility to buyout Bryzgalov if you choose to do so. And at the very least gives you a credible backup.
- PLindbergh31

That sounds good. But I don't think Bishop is worth potentially the 31st pick plus a player, so any trade for him should be done in the offseason.

good luck... lol

I dont think Gus is ever gonna be more than a 6th d-man.. I was hoping he would break out, and said I could see him as a #4 PP d-man, but i have serious doubts about that.

Bishop is a gamble for sure in his own right... He has only played in 26 games, and before this season... he was a just a big mediocre goalie prospect.. before this season his best save% was .909 last year with the Sens.

young guys like bishop? i'm thinking bernier and then drawing a blank.
- isaiah520

why pay a premium for a guy with a lot of "potential"? you have a decent goaltender locked up for 7 years, and most of these guys end up as league average goaltenders anyway.

I'd consider next year's 2nd rounder and a mid-level prospect, like Gustafsson, maybe.

I take trade deadline and free agency day off every year (yes I am a hockey geek). i think this one is going to be a yawner overall.

- nastyflyergirl

I have taken days off too. You might be right, only a few teams are totally out of the playoff mix, so you wouldn't think there would be a lot of teams selling today.

I wish we had the 31st pick.. but more and more I feel like it will be the 40th pick.

he might have been drafted in the 2nd rnd, but he's a 1st round talent...not a chance

Exactly. Bishop has played well behind the Ottawa team. But that's a team that limits second chances and odd man rushes, despite giving up a lot of shots.

The key to beating Bishop is getting him to move. That's the kind of chances the Flyers allow by the truckload.

Well if he's moved today he won't be available in the offseason. I would do a second rounder and a player like Cousins or Noebels.

for an undrafted kid out of college I can live with that but I agree, I was hoping he would be more as well. who knows, he is still young. Seems like the Flyers are full of dmen prospects who fall in the 6/7 range

Yea.. look at how well Craig Anderson has played there.

I dont think they should make the move TBH.. Id rather them use all the picks they have to build the prospect pool.

The Bruins had 50 shots on goal. And a ton of them were quality scoring chances. This notion that Ottawa is some defensive juggernaut isn't true.

the guy i would be targeting today (not a goaltender) is Kulikov out of Florida. He's apparently regressed a little in the eyes of the organization, so it could be a good time to grab a very good, young, puck-moving defenseman.

And not pay out the nose for an overrated, overpaid Keith Yandle.
