Its gotta be eating at you guys that one of Phillys greatest, no greatest, coach's son is the GM of your arch enemy. I wonder if your situation would be the same if Ray Shero, who always loved the Flyers, was your GM - bigdaddywaite
Not really..Homer is doing a solid job.. We female dog and complain, but the Flyers are still one of the best franchises in the NHL... I suspect if Pronger hadn't gone down, we wouldn't be in such a bad spot. |

Will Mason backup? PH: “We see him as one of our 2 goalies, not only the rest of this yr, but moving forward. We’ll just leave it at that."

I do not like the sound of that at all. Not one bit. |

I would almost think they HAVE to play Mason this year. Even splitting the remaining games with Bryz, just to see what Mason has wrong and if it could be fixed.
Whether or not these games are enough of a sample size is a different question entirely. - johndewar
What's the worst that can happen playing Mason? The team leaves the goalie out to dry and get a nice pick....sweet. |

It does sound pretty bad lol... As in there is the distinct possibility he could start next year I really, really, really, really hope they don't buy ou Bryz. I still think he's gotten an unfair hand in Philly overall. Sure he hasn't played quite to expectation, but this season, if you've watched all the games, he's actually played well enough to win. We just suck.
Does anything think there is a remote change he's bought out to eliminate the cap, and then re-signed at a cheaper and smaller term? |

If they win tonight, they're four points out of the 7th seed. they're not going go for the lottery. |

What is wrong with that? One of our 2 goalies could mean he's re signed at less and is an actual capable backup. I don't know about you guys, but I can't stand watching Boucher and Leighton try and play goal on spot duty.. they are horrible and we can't manage in a short season where Bryz can play every game, but over 82 games, you are going to have to spell him assuming he doesn't get hurt. |

I don't give it a second thought, to be honest.
There is no requirement for the progeny of famous coaches to be employed by the team that employed their father, is there? |

I don't blame Homer completely, I believe IMO he is handcuffed no matter what is said. Then again other teams lose big players and move along nicely because they have backup plans. |
