good luck... lol
I dont think Gus is ever gonna be more than a 6th d-man.. I was hoping he would break out, and said I could see him as a #4 PP d-man, but i have serious doubts about that.
Bishop is a gamble for sure in his own right... He has only played in 26 games, and before this season... he was a just a big mediocre goalie prospect.. before this season his best save% was .909 last year with the Sens. - jak521
I need to see more of Gus at the NHL level. I think his skill set is a bit higher than a spare part. |

they gave up a sh1tload of quality chances last nite - isaiah520
They give up chances, but usually it's not a case where Bishop has to move a ton. The kind of chances the Flyers allow would expose his biggest weakness. |
|
|
|
To be honest though.. I dont think its a move we should make. - jak521
If they decide to move on from Bryzgalov what are the options? Nevermind that who is the backup G next year? This nonsense with recycling Leighton and Boucher has to stop. |

The Bruins had 50 shots on goal. And a ton of them were quality scoring chances. This notion that Ottawa is some defensive juggernaut isn't true. - PLindbergh31
They're not a juggernaut. But how many of those chances and shots were off odd man rushes or breakaways? Bishop's biggest weakness is lateral movement. I think he'd have issues here and I wouldn't trade a high pick for him, personally. |

History as in the 2nd Flyers goalie to win a cup? - jak521
do you dream in technicolor and 2:35:1 aspect ratio as well
this team's not a serious cup contender until '14-15 if their blueline is straightened out. and since lemaire has retired, bryz will have to make a few challenging saves. |

You dont need to move players and picks to get a backup. |

the guy i would be targeting today (not a goaltender) is Kulikov out of Florida. He's apparently regressed a little in the eyes of the organization, so it could be a good time to grab a very good, young, puck-moving defenseman.
And not pay out the nose for an overrated, overpaid Keith Yandle. - bradleyc4
that's the thought process for me. we have to catch a guy being sold low and take a chance w/ at least one of these plyrs we need. |

I'd love to grab Kulikov. Not sure if they sell low, because as the Hespeler Wildman has pointed out, Detroit's offered a good prospect for him |

Buyout Bryz, and Briere, Trade Couturier, Coburn and a first for Weber, Trade a 2nd and Noebels for Bishop. |

Here on buffalo radio reporting maybe coots prospect + pick for vanek. Anyone hear anyone In Philly hear anything about that. They are sourcing tsn saying Philly would be willing to move coots for for top scorer or dman??? |

Rumor is they asked about both Vanek and Myers. No idea if they're really highly interested. |

nope.. wouldnt make sense either.. Couts a pick and a prospect for a forward? Yet they wouldnt do it for a d-man... the much more glaring need. |

we need somebody like that along w/ stolarz as part of a plan...instead of a prayer for bryz to play better if we start playing like the '95 devils |

They might be more interested in an NHL-ready guy like Brayden Schenn.
Obviously, that would not be "selling low", but I'd consider a deal with Schenn/Kulikov as the basis. (I'd want a little more in return) |

The important thing to take away from today is that, according to Bruce Campbell, the sequel to Bubba Ho-Tep is back in the works. |

They don't give up a ton of odd man rushes, but they give up a bunch of quality chances per game. I watch them a lot. Their team save % leads the NHL by a significant margin. It has to do with their Goalies being talented. |

Guess thats buffalos asking price. I'd be pissed if Philly gave all that up for vanek. Maybe coots for vanek straight up but I wouldn't add to it and I'd rather move coots for a dman but could Understand if Philly moved coots straight up for vanek. Guy is a beast in front of net and on pp. Good for 35 to 40 goals a year. |

I would be a shame to break up the Schenn brothers, but I'd rather lose B Schenn than Couturier. |

I'd be interested in either, but I'm still high on Schenn. During the NJ series, I thought he was one of the better players. I still want to see him with a full NHL season and contiinuous linemates. |
