My opinion I'm just not as sure Bob would be having the same success here. The fan base, media, and expectations are totally different in Columbus then Philly. Of course, we'll never know, but I don't think it is a slam dunk. Mason will have to answer the same questions. Some guys just play better in markets where the lights aren't as bright. - ravishingone
That's reallllllly hard to say about Bob when he had only played two years in North American hockey when they got rid of him. He was a risk, but at least we had developed him up until there. If they saw what CLB saw, and they still got rid of him, it makes me wonder what the (frank) was going on even more.
Is it possible they didn't know Bob was going to be good? Even scarier. |

This broke down his base salary, stocks, and options... Pretty comprehensive.

Should the deferred compensation balance of 54 million be added to that 23 and change? (serious question, not a real financial expert)

You're the moron who pulled misinformation out of his behind and calling anyone else stupid is hypocritical.
Name calling after being exposed. Typical and expected. - phillydentist
Yep, and I readily admit I did.
But you seeming to think that the hockey team has any bearing on cable costs is kind of laughable. It's a separate entity from the cable division. Just like NBC Universal is separate. Like Comcast Spectacor is separate. |

it's definitely a blunder, but i don't think they get rid of bob if they know these cba changes are coming. and in the same vein, i don't think this mason deal happens if the league doesn't add the clawback and buyout provisions. there's definitely some egg on their face, but i think the changed circumstances are big factors as well - FlyerMike18
Not really sure how the cba changes would affect Bob leaving or staying...the cap is gonna come down either way. My understanding is they got rid of Bob because he was an "expensive" backup and that BRyz was "the answer." Signing Mason at a higher price than Bob makes me question why they really got rid of him. Did they not evaluate him properly? Who knows. |

This looks like a team. - shekkie
Took 'em long enough, but there was a lot of talk in late January / early February about the team having a compressed schedule early and being able to hopefully recover when the schedule slows down.

Not technically, because it's unspecified when it's deferred from.
I did pull the number out of my ass, because I figured anyone who blamed the salary of a hockey player for their cable bill was too dumb to be able to google CEO compensation. My bad. |
