If they move Meszaros, Coburn and Talbot to LTIR they can fit him. But agreed, they'd be screwed next year. - Jsaquella
It's not about Cap space this year. It's about tagging space for the future years. |

They'd have just enough. They have around $2mm now, and can exceed it by 10%, which is another $6.3mm. They can just squeeze him in, barely |

I wish a doc would give Pronger the ok.. Let Pronger announce he was coming back.. and have the Flyers buy him out... Everybody in on it and call it a day.. as soon as he is bought out have him retire and BADDABING worry free. |

If they moved Feds and Gags it would be even easier. |

At which point the NHL will call BS and the Flyers will be forced to forfeit a 1st round pick. |

That rule to exceed it by 10% is not in effect for this Season. That doesn't start until next Season. |

Not really. They're UFAs and don't count against tagging room for next year |

Trading Fedetenko and Gagne would lessen the Flyers tagging space, not increase it. |

Draft lottery question. Say the Flyers don't make the playoffs (likely), and win the lottery (pipe dream). Do they only get the #1 pick in only the first round or are they slotted 1st for all rounds? |

I thought they'd have no effect on it either way since they're UFAs. How would it lessen it? I admit I'm not all that familar with the tagging rule past the basics of it. |

I believe that only applies to the first round. |

I feel like the NHL is already doing everything they can to put the screws to teams (like the Flyers) that found the swiss cheese like holes in the old CBA.
If Bettman pulled a stunt like that, I pray Snider takes his dumb ass to court. |

Well they basically gave the stiff arm to NJ when NJ didn't even violate any rules with the original Kovalchuk deal. So for the Flyers to try to get around one, I'm sure the NHL would love to flex its muscles on the first team trying to get around the new CBA to let it be known they won't tolerate that stuff again. |

If Flyers want Yandle, it'll cost them Couturier + ... Talks are fluid. |

They put the kibosh on teams like the Flyers, Leafs, Habs, etc etc. when they put the strict cap on.. |

Replace Yandle with "son" and cost with "repeatedly." |

Yeah, if they wouldn't move Couturier in a deal for Weber, not sure how they can sell this idea to anyone. |

In my mind (somehow) the Simpsons quote was relevant, as to what a horrible situation that would be. |
