it is a fact, and better late than never.

die, habs, die.

I guess the coach has made some adjustments with his new blueline. Keep him?

Not really sure how the cba changes would affect Bob leaving or staying...the cap is gonna come down either way. My understanding is they got rid of Bob because he was an "expensive" backup and that BRyz was "the answer." Signing Mason at a higher price than Bob makes me question why they really got rid of him. Did they not evaluate him properly? Who knows.

Part of the reason that they traded Bobrovsky was because he is going to be a RFA this summer. After the Varlamov mess, where he threatened to go to the KHL, the Flyers decided to get a return out him and forestall a possible issue in getting him re-signed.

Part of it was also due to the inability to send Bobrovsky to the AHL, without going through waivers. He needed to play regularly and it was felt he wouldn't in Philly.

what i mean is that 1) the buyout bryz possibility and 2) the fact that he can't retire later in his deal and just come off the cap (both of which didn't exist when they traded bob) make having a young, more expensive backup goalie a more attractive option

again, they still may be sick of bryz and ready to just move on from him no matter what. i don't know. i just think that those rule changes make a difference

I see what you're saying, but that's still a poor excuse to give up on a goalie, especially when it is a position of extreme need.

Besides a few mistakes and iffy goaltending, they dominated tonight. Keep it up boys.

There's nothing dumb about it. Someone has to pay for the bad contracts Holmgren is doling out. It's the customers.

The team practically prints money. The Flyers' operations don't touch the coffers of the Cable Division.

You think the Ducks hit Disneyland for money for Pronger and Niedermayer when they were in Anaheim?

It's truly amazing what this team has done with the defense they've put up these last two games.
- Yosimar89

this team would not be in the position they're in if they played this way all year. puck support, defense first, mostly disciplined. it's nice to see.

Maybe the best 60 minutes all year....The Steve Mason Effect ...Seriously very impressed tonight....Nice work boys
- nonpoint22

Had nothing to do with mason, see last Friday was Good Friday and instead of Jesus dying, Adrian woke up from her coma and told the flyers to win.

cooter needs a goal.

He bounced it off 3 Habs before scoring, just to make it more challenging.

Actually, that would be the rising ticket, parking and concession prices not the cable TV prices.

This makes a little more sense, but doesn't change my opinion that they really (frank)ed up the goalie situation.

This whole Mason thing just seems like a retread of the past 5 years. Biron, Emery, Leighton...just hoping that an average goalie can carry them. Very frustrating to think that they may blow it up and take that route again. And BRyz is not the perfect answer, either, but at least you know what you're getting.
