Switched to DirecTV with the NHL holdout. No point in keeping CSN if there were no Flyers games and I wasn't going to pay a premium to watch the Sixers... - phillydentist
last month I complained about my bill and they lowered it by switching my cable "level" back down to starter. I was supposed to lose a bunch of channels including NHL network. Bill went down and it was switched, but didn't lose a single channel |

Go figure, give Gervais more minutes and responsibility and he plays a lot better. - ravishingone
Got him away from Coburn.

Oh, so you have a cable bill? Direct TV not cutting it?
http://www.sportsbusiness...28/Franchises/Flyers.aspx
Tickets up 21% before last season, raised again this year.
Cable rates might rise into the low double digits in 2013

I have google, too - Jsaquella
You know how to use Google but you apparently don't read your own links.
"The Flyers are "instituting a price increase of more than 21 percent for six sections in the lower bowl" of Well Fargo Center"
That ticket increase was not across the board but for a small portion of the total seats. |

My point was Flyers fans are the ones paying for the bad contracts whether it is ticket prices or cable bills. From what I've seen its the cable bill thats gone up way more than tickets. - phillydentist
Flyers fans buy tickets to games. Ticket prices will be the same regardless of how many bad contracts the Flyers sign. There is a salary Cap. The Flyers will likely spend to the salary Cap every year. Do you really think contracts the Flyers sign, have an effect on what it costs for Comcast Cable? Seriously?

Yeah, definitely less crowded. I'm not a ride guy. Used to love them, but now, I just can't be bothered.
I enjoy fishing too much. - Jsaquella
Can't stand fishing. Mellow as I am, I just can't sit there like a jerk on one end waiting for a jerk on the other. |

Nice, so it was Coburn who was the albatross. What a weird year.

That increase is because they knew the Flyers would be trading for Mason.

Hmm. I'm calling by this weekend to remove some stuff from our Triple Play and Cable packages. That would be a nice change for us. |

When I meant legitimate, I didn't mean Vezina worthy, I just meant better than Leighton. - feelingkettle
Mason's a roll of the dice. They realized that the coach/fans/players had little or no faith in Leighton or Boucher and gave Mason a shot.
He's 24, and his biggest issue has been consistency. I do feel that he and the goalie coach in Columbus didn't communicate well, so hopefully, Reese can reach him and then he can be why our cable bills rise next year. |

Yes, but it's an increase, is it not? Parking has gone up in each of the last few years as well.

if I knew my cable bill was directly related to the moves the Flyers make. I'd have a lot of different thoughts on what the Flyers should do. I think I don't want them to get a #1 defenseman now. That costs to much. |

His career path reminds me of Kari Lehtonen minus the injuries. At 24, I like the deal. Still got Stolarz in the pipeline to hopefully keep developing. |

hmm, just noticed that the Devils hold down the 8th spot, but have lost 4 in a row.
maybe it's NJ that we have a better chance of catching, rather than the Rangers? |

Yep. They can also try to sign Joacim Eriksson this summer. He's still a UFA. |
