You seem threatened enough to drag this out. Is your doctorate from an accredited school or like DeVry? Are you sure you're a dentist and not the oral hygienist? - Jsaquella

Luke Schenn has been a rock. I said a while ago that the Flyers got burned on that trade. Schenn is really putting it up my ass.
I wouldnt rely on Guss to be the slotted #6 d-man next season, but he made a damn nice play there at the end. Need balls for that. - flyer_nutter
I would agree on Gus and even Lauridsen. I just think it shows they may have a little more organizational depth on young d-men who can at least hold their own in the NHL. Luke seems to have really excelled at the increased minutes and playing in all situations. He's playing with confidence and looking like a real leader on the blue line. |

With all the negativity about the Steve Mason trade you'd think the Flyers have been finding 3rd round gems year after year. - Baxter27

Well, the bandwagoners gave up weeks ago, but now they're coming back while the tankers are giving up after celebrating their ineptitude the last few weeks. It's quite the conundrum. - Flyskippy
Where the hell I fell for most of the season I have no idea.
If we could see names please.
I like to think of myself as somewhere in the middle, with not accepting the idea of tanking. |

fwiw, my fiance will have her doctorate by the end of this year.
However, if after that, she gets in the habit of telling people she has a doctorate - either just to brag or as a put down - then the wedding is definitely off!

She should be proud, and you of her. My wife's cousin just finished her defense. It's a great accomplishment, and I'm making damned sure my kids at least get their bachelor degrees.

It would pay off huge in the future imo, if they all get through this together, coach included.
Few solid moves in the summer, and weed out the chronically inconsistent/stupid, and we are ready to roll. - flyer_nutter
Honestly, as much as I shredded Laviolette, I have to give him a ton of credit for not letting this team quit. There's ample reason for them to hang it up, but they haven't. At least some-if not most-of the credit has to go to Lava |

Just be careful what the degree is in.
I did the whole university thing, before going to a private career orientated school for nursing.
That whole mantra, of "go to college, go to college..." is what so many kids do but they are left with worthless degrees, that have them scrambling to get any job they can find with huge loans to pay off. Too much competition for some things out there. |

I still dislike his system. For an agressive attack they sure allow teams out of thier zone easily. |

I'm intrigued by Lauridsen's size and skating ability. If they can be patient with him, I think he can play in the NHL. That is the key, be patient. They are spoon feeding him now, which I have no problem with that plan. When Grossmann returns (apparently he is skating), I still think they have to play the rookie over Huskins or even Gus. His size and skating can give him such an advantage. |

It's definitely an expensive endurance competition.
Personally, having done the school thing, I believe technical training is the way to go...at least until our college/university systems undergo a minor revolution. In it's current state, for the amount of money the average student has to pay, and with a bachelors degree becoming more and more common, it's just not really worth it.
Colleges are businesses as opposed to bastions of higher learning, and like so many other institutions in the modern world, they are worshiping the Lord of Profit. |

That it is. I'm also impressed with the team and the fight theyve showed as recent injuries have piled up. Who knows if they can make up for a mediocre first 2 thirds of the season but at this point I just want to see the team playing the right way. |

Almost forgot.... One of the best ways to save money is to send your kids to 2 years of community college, then to a major University. All that matters is where you graduate from. |

Absolutely. I know people who went to school and couldn't get a job in their fields at all, and had tons of debt hanging over their heads. Some of them ended up being supported by their parents, others got jobs waiting tables, and others ended up doing blue collar work.
The best are the ones that won't lower themselves to take a blue collar job, but have no issue borrowing money from mommy when the rent's due. |
