The only one I had an issue with is the one that went over his head. I'm still not sure what that was all about. It must have dipped, because his reaction was that he thought it was going over the net. - MJL
The puck was deflected, Bryz never saw it--that's why his reaction didn't match up well with the actual goal.
I was right behind, albeit in section 208, and it was plain as day. I had to calm myself from the idiots. |

Look at that game last night. They went long periods of holding Montreal with out any shots on net. They were not overly aggressive on the forecheck. They kept the 3rd man high, and had a neutral zone presence. They didn't allow a ton of easy entries into their zone. Nor did they have a lot of those shifts where they were pinned in their own zone for entire shifts. And against Montreal, who is one of the top offensive teams. And with a makeshift defense. Or maybe it's just that Huskins and Lauridsen are better then Coburn and Grossmann are? What do you think? It's really a shame it took this long. - MJL
The Flyers are 8th in SA/G. Allowing a lot of SHOTS hasn't been the Flyer's problem this year. |

That would explain it better. He didn't see the Emelin goal either. He looked around the screen to the left, and the puck went right, on the other side of the screen. - MJL
I thought the Emelin goal was more of a seeing eye shot.

Luke Schenn has been a rock. I said a while ago that the Flyers got burned on that trade. Schenn is really putting it up my ass.
I wouldnt rely on Guss to be the slotted #6 d-man next season, but he made a damn nice play there at the end. Need balls for that. - flyer_nutter
Nutter, big of you to admit you were wrong... Glad to know Luke is winning you over. I actually really liked the trade when it happened more so now with our D core looking like they've been on the front lines... Although I had to laugh as I turned to the fiancee last night and said "Wow, Luke's gonna be really good", turn back and he immeditaely turns it over for a goal on us... Sigh. So apparently that was my fault... |

Nope, shot quality has been an issue though. If you're facing 17 shots and three or four of them are where you have little chance to make a stop, you're numbers are going to look bad.
Granted, adding a soft goal or two will do the same. That's an area of concern moving forward |

Drives me nuts... The first and third goals were mind/eye tricks.. Screened on the first, the third deflected and was literally spinning like crazy.. it was like a really good change up.. he thought it was coming in hot but it was a floater..
The second goal was on a 3v1, and while I wish he would have played it better... it was still a breakdown that led to a 3v1 down low. |

Yesterday's trade for Steve Mason (and the subsequent analysis) is going to do that too.
Aside: I am amused in all of the post trade analysis at how Sergei Bobrovsky, after 26 games this year with CBJ, has been anointed the next coming of Tretiak. National writers seemed to be having a good time with their "Those Silly Flyers and their Goaltender problem" narrative that they like to keep running. |

What do you expect when he ducks his head out of the way of a puck and it goes in the net.

It's funny and all, I guess, but otherwise I don't think it's different from any other missed save. You'd think he shot the puck into his own net, the way I heard some crowing. |

Since the change ( the past 4 games) the flyers are averaging 4 goals a game.. From the start of the season until the change they had only scored 4 or more goals in 7 games. 2 or fewer in 21 games. - jak521
Also scoring more 5-on-5 goals which has helped out some. Before it was if they didn't score on the PP, you knew they would find a way to lose the game. Was nice to see them win a game when the PP wasn't clicking. |

My point was how well the Flyers played defensively in parts of last night's game. They didn't allow Montreal anything last night for large chunks of the game. Which is quite different from how the majority of the Season has been. |

i've seen this many times. done it myself. and it only happens in a situation like that - redirected right toward the head...natural reaction to put your hands up and duck your head a bit...a) protecting your face (even though you're wearing a mask etc), and b) you think it's probably going over the net and you don't want to leave a weird rebound. it all happens in a split second. i think he just misjudged the trajectory of the deflection, because it did not appear to dip on the way toward the net. it looked bad, and unfortunately was bad. no problem with his game other than that. |

It definitely was. But if Bryzgalov see's the puck, I think he makes the save easily. |

That's going to happen when your $51 million goalie has a save percentage of .899. Yes the Flyers team defense has been awful for most of this season, but teams like Edmonton have struggled defensively as well. And yet their goalie has put up a solid .922. |

Of course, because writing an such an article requires absolutely zero effort, thought, or analysis. It's easy and plays to their audience. |

i like bob. wanted to keep him. but agreed that it's way too soon to annoint him as anything. had he stayed here, and played the same as he has, the writers would still say the flyers have issues/controversy. |

i like bryz, and have defended him all year...he has been our best player by far, the replays of those goals just looked stoppable ecspecially the last 2, #2 slid under his glove and #3 was a knuckle ball up high, i know he had no idea where they were because of screen/deflection but a quicker eye could have adjusted, but it really does not matter since they won |

And I was correct again.
Didn't mean to get personal like that though. Seriously.
But you were the one with the friggin gall for a HS grad to insult someone with a doctorate degree. LMFAO
Edit: insult as in calling me a "moron" and "dumb" for stating my opinion. I would not do that to anyone here for stating their opinion. - phillydentist
I don't know if this fire has been put out yet or not (I'm still on page fricken 88), but I agree that this seemed to start when Jsaquella said something about him going to some tinfoil hat school of dentistry. There weren't any personal remarks up until that point and it escallated. I don't think that comment was needed for him to get his point across.. Kind of disappointed he went there.
However, since then you've been stating how how "entitled" you feel and that is wrong. Many people here are not college grads and have a degree does not make you more important than anyone else. Which education or how much college you've completed has NOTHING to do with who you are allowed to insult or any kind of interaction. Your education makes you no better than anybody, it makes you more money. |
