Did he have his jaw wired shut?
I read an initial report that he may not have to have that done. - Atomic Wedgie
Ah, well wired or not, he's not chewing.

I think the PA wanted them as much as some owners. The owners were cool with it, as long as it was not outside of the players' share, which makes sense.
Depending on the buyouts this summer, we could see guys like Luongo being bargains for teams, as their old teams pay them for the next 15 years or more. - Jsaquella
basically like the isles and yashin except they'll still be in the league. |

Who knows, wouldn't be the first time they added a "Anti-Devils" type player. They added Mogilny once upon a time. - Jsaquella
And Kovalchuk. But yeah, that would suck. |

Probably bryz, they probably want to get Mason acclimated to the team and getting him some practice with the boys before he makes his start. |

Stats-wise, he's disappeared. But it's not quite as bad as the stats would have you believe. He's been getting chances, hitting posts. Kinda one of those things where it looks like he's come out of his slump - just hasn't seen the results yet.
But in answer to your unasked question, he's still the JVR you knew and loved. |

Need to get out of a funk? Need to set a record? Need to reach a milestone? The Flyers are the team to play. |

With a wired shut jaw he'll be out for a while no matter what. And he'll lose muscle mass quickly, because it's hard to get enough protein when on a liquid diet. - bodiva88
Immersion blender.
Once you get past the initial thought of it, grilled chicken and broccoli soup is quite good.

Sounds like the Leafs the last 8 years or so... JVR has definatly slowed down, but you don't get points for screening the goalie on goals, something he has done a good job of this year. |

So it may be a challenge to compete when he does come back. But his agent and the team both deny he's had any concussion symptoms. It is possible Eskin's wrong, you know. - bodiva88

But the Flyers missed out on Bishop and Luongo and dealt Leighton, the goalie who backstopped them to the Cup Finals in 2010,
- Don'tForgetTocchet
I actually heard some ass hat "expert" on NHL radio at lunchtime saying that Leighton is a better goalie than Mason, and "was a bona fide Stanley Cup caliber goalie". Nearly wrecked my truck laughing so hard... |

Haha kudos to the jackets for prying Leighton away! In one paragraph. They dog Gaborik and applaud the rangers. In the next they laud the jackets for being able to land Gaborik! |

Omg
Prolly the best thing Holmgren did was that bait and switch! I'm not convinced that the third wasn't added in so they'd take Leighton off our hands. They did immediately trade for a goalie from the Penguins.
Have a nice life Leighton. I'm cool with riding the Tiger. |
