Ah, that's right....Hexy is a Manitoba guy....

Got me searching around a bit to see if Hexy has his number retired by them.. couldn't find that, but found this:

I think Luke can be a little mare than a stay at home dman... Maybe
- JoeRussomanno

I always felt he had good offensive potential for what he is.

30 points isn't out of the question during his prime, IMO. Guy's got a good pass out of the defensive zone, and was working on his shot when he was with the Leafs.

Bryz has got to stop doing that... I understand it may be more out of frustration than making a show of assigning blame for the goal, but there's more subtle (and effective) ways of communicating to his teammates that they were screening him than making flippant gestures that can be seen from the stands and on TV.

It's like if he let in a questionable goal and his D turned around and shrugged at him.

It's just not professional.

I think that's looking at it the wrong way. He's not doing it to show up his teammates. He's doing it just to say, hey, I couldn't see it. Nothing unprofessional about it in my opinion.

Where are you from? I like seeing Flyers fan's that extend out of market. I see it with Pitts all the time, but refreshing to see it with the Flyers.

This. I know its more of an overall system thats working for them now, but at times I thought Coburn played like the 7th or 8th defenseman on this team.

I remember him having a start like that in the 09-10 season, but then he came back around and finished strong. This year, no. Let's hope a full season with actual practice time turns a lot of players around next year.

- TrentKlatt

They'd all benefit from a full offseason. I'd like to see the team make the playoffs just to see how Gus and lauridsen stand up. Flyers would then have a nice evaluation of these guys to make a decision in the summer. 4.5 for coburn, bringing very little to the offensive end since his first couple years here. It's a bit much. Schenn is starting to assert himself in a top role and grossman is capable. You have to think about packaging coburn for a top offensive defenseman to replace kimmo

I'm not sure what Leafs fans got from the pharmacy in the Jane/Finch area, but they got some good stuff. Hall deliberately lead with his head, so he could head butt Lupul? Hall grabbed Reimer's stick and pulled him out of position on the GWG?

Geeeeeez....

Anyways, team defense looks much improved. Coots looks to be regaining confidence. If Huskins and Hall keep up their steady play the rest of the season, do we give the Wings that late pick and re-sign him and Hall?

My list of absolute departures is lessening. Knuble, Lilja, Walker, Boucher, Meszaros, Lavy.

Meh, as long as the teammates don't take exception, I don't see an issue. This is Bryz we're talking about, you could probably find a dozen things he does that're unprofessional on any given day. He's just a loopy frood.

Intentional or not(and lets be honest, it was)... that's a goal you take back. Maybe the Philly feed didn't show it clearly, but the Toronto one did.

I don't think many Leaf fans think the hit on Lupul was dirty.

I appreciate homer not going crazy at the deadline. Addressed the holes created by injury and let the team go. He can evaluate in the offseason and make moves then. So far so good, team has rattled of 4 huge wins against formidable competition and with grasp of a playoff spot. They have clearly not played to potential, the coach seems to have regained the room and gotten them to play a more balanced approach. I just hope that's not because of the injuries with the intent to return to business as usual once the dmen on ir comeback.

He could easily just skate up to teammates and say it from behind his mask, or wait until he's back on the bench or in the room. There's really no good reason to make a show of it, and plenty of reasons why you shouldn't... namely it looks like he's intent on absolving himself of responsibility of the goal.

Unless you're in his head, you don't know for certain why he does it.... but what we do know is that it can be perceived as him being selfish or being a bad teammate.

Unless they hit like a mother... Otherwise the good stay at home defensemen get no respect, money or awards.

True, a guy that creams people on a regular basis does get props. Look at Volchenkov.

If it was another goalie, whose personality wasn't such a known, I might question it. But this is Bryz we're talking about here, the Russian Goofhammer. He's known for... err, being expressive.

If he needs to make a visual cue to his teammates to mentally shake the goal off then fine. Could it be better? Sure. But at least he's talking to them... And I'd prefer for him to do what he needs to get back into the game and forget about it.
This is overall pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Him looking shaky and off angles concerns me more.

Twitter and bloggers were definitely driving most of the anxiety... Homer really has no track record of giving up his young players for rentals... he's more likely to parlay them for equally young talent, or go even younger. His scouting background seems to really inform his way of handling assets.

IMO its no different than a scorer looking to the sky when he misses a shot or the other goalie makes a great save. Emotions are invested

I hate reading body language, because the perception can easy lead to conclusions.

That said, Bryzgalov is making me feel like Roman Cechmanek, circa 2003 playoffs. On night(like against Boston) he's stellar. The next pedestrian. He's got to be better for the level of commitment the organization has put in him.

EDIT: Glen Miller the Columbus blogger is also suprisingly eloquent. Although we all know we are here for Bill...
