good to hear. we drafted him 4th overall and obviously that was too high. though his offensive game didnt quite develop like we wanted he worked extremely hard in the ahl to develop his defensive game and its good to see he's having a little success.
with hickey and moulson...snow and the islanders have done well grabbing king players that for whatever reason just haven't worked out for us. good for moulson and hickey and good for the islanders. - good2b_the_king
Well see how hickey turns out? He still has some work to do with his game of course. For his first real season I've been happy with him. Obviously he gets out muscled off the puck sometimes but his game is becoming better. Almost like he's improvising. |

Snow Bashers... I love it!!!
Sooner or later you guys will get your heads out of your ass, and see he's doing a good job!!!

Judging from your posts, you must have a lot of 1st hand experience with your head in places it doesn't belong.
Aside of drafting, Snow is a joke and a puppet whose LACK of action is almost as bad as Milbury's trying-too-hard approach. Mark my words, he'll bring DP back, re-sign Crapuano & Boyes and the entire NHL fanbase will have all the ammunition necessary to laugh at us again for being faithful to a management full of assclowns. Please save this post. Let's re-visit in 5-6 months for training camp and see whose face smells like sh!t, then. And in case you're too young to understand my avatar, it's homage to folks like you, living in a fantasy land.

playoff games count towards his ELC I believe - Vukota
I could be wrong on this but I don't think it does. Contracts (in terms of payment) are for an 82 game season so I'd think that playoff games wouldn't count since the player will not be getting contracted payments during that time. |

I really hope you are wrong about the first two. DiPietro should have never been picked. He should have never been given his contract. He should have never even put on an Islanders jersey in his life. And that's just my view of him on the ice. Off the ice I think he's one of the proudest Islanders we've had in a long time.
As far as Capuano goes, it all goes back to the Islanders and how they do things. It's a cycle and we watch it happen over and over again. Look through history - Islanders coaches are supposed to last 2 seasons then get fired. For me, I'm still wondering why Laviolette is not the second longest tenured coach in the NHL behind Trotz. He should still be here. |

Any thoughts on my boys bailey and Martin. Woo. Big win boys. We keep this up it won't matter what others in conference are doing.
Martin goal was huge. Way to close out yet another game. Ko made the bailey goal happen. Grabs takes the prettiest goal award. |

Key with Bailey is that he has to keep doing it, which has always been the issue. We've seen him play extremely well before, only to follow that up with poor play for twice as long. Nobody doubts the kid has talent, just that he's prone to disappearing for lengthy periods of time.
Anyway, I played 2 games tonight and I have to be out east at 6:30am...so I'm going to shoot myself in the face and go to bed. |

I had to do some research because i thought I read it somewhere earlier.

Dee Karl: A Game of Importance: Isles vs Lightning
Can they sweep the series? - Dee Karl
Did Larry brooks (when referring to the isles making the playoffs) just write "our islanders"??? That's too funny!
Also did anyone catch the blog about PK Subban being a finalist for the Norris? I said it before the season, the isles shoulda tried to pluck him from Montreal. Anyone here not think a Norris trophy candidate (only a few years in the league) not worth 5 or 6 million? |

Lets talk sh!t after Saturday. The high priced skirts are facing a young and hungry islander team that they're not used to seeing. This isn't the pushover squad the rags are used to dominating. You're gonna have pry those 2 pts away on Saturday coming into our barn... |

Hope I am too BUT why pay DP for the year if you're gonna buyout in summer? Do they really think he can/will regain his form in one abbreviated season in the AHL?
Signs are on the wall. If Capuano gets them to playoffs he'll get another contract, E5. They like a guy they can control. Even if they just miss, I still think Garth brings him back. |
