Weber is not the type of player that gets traded within the same division. I also think there aren't many teams willing to take on the deal we offered him.
- hereticpride

i'd welcome a fair deal to get him, but the optics for NSH would be brutal...'they tried to pull the rug from under our franchise, but we showed our fans we won't let that happen'...a yr later, 'guess they could after all'.

i wouldn't be holding my breath on that one.

When we started this run we said well there's 3 losses left. That's one guys. Getting a really good eval of OHL and Gus.

Are razors hip issues behind him? I think we should see maybe about putting this guy in orange again. Fantastic when healthy

Bryz needs a rest for sure. I'd like to see mason get 5 games at least. I like bryz but I can't help but wonder about razors situation

Nashville can't even trade Weber until July 28th. If it gets revisited it's likely a plan B sort of thing or in a few years

Galchenyuk is going to be a special player. Couts and schenn just don't have explosive legs like this guy

It's just discouraging to see that kind of collapse after 4 wins. You get a combined situation where the team really leaves Bryzgalov hung out to dry on the first two goals, then the 3rd is a total cluster(frank). Finally the last one was just a seeming sign of abject surrender.

Not happy with the effort from goal on out today. Winnipeg's been losing games and were ripe. The Flyers decided they could show up and play 20 minutes.

Edit: I'd like to see Bill's thoughts in general on the situation. Its not all his fault, but I wouldnt be at all suprised if the whole Bryzgalov thing has become a distraction to the team.

I'd like to hear his thoughts, too. He's level-headed and analytical. This is in stark contrast to the beat writers and 99% of fans.

I didn't see the game. Not on a channel I get and anyway I hate afternoon games. But I did see many tweets, and despite the fact that a lot of the tweets during the second period were about how the Flyers basically sucked in it, the overwhelming tone was that Bryz was the problem. Again, I didn't see the game, but I really find it hard to believe that with all the injuries and the other problems with the team in general that people can just so easily say the problem is Bryz.

You could certainly say he should have made a save on the 4th goal.
The other 3 were basically shots from the middle of the slot but only 2 feet out from the net.
As bad as he was, the defense was just as abysmal. Kane was able to change is direction behind the net 3 times and yet every player on the ice was facing him vs what was going on behind them.
In addition to that while they generated a lot of changes in the first their offense was not there over the rest of the game.

Posted (a version of) this yesterday:

I haven't ragged in Bryz too much. Certainly the team in front of him, for the most part, hasn't done him any favors, but I think he's been pretty underwhelming and has put together only intermittent stretches of good solid play with lots of inconsistent, even shaky performances in between. He's had a game here and there where he'll be among the reasons the Flyers were able to win or at least be close, but also had many where he lacked confidence and let in questionable goals that contributed to losses. I am ok with trading him in the offseason if someone will take him (doubtful), or even a buyout, and in that case, sign former flyers draftee, Joacim "Sunshine" Eriksson who is lighting it up in the swedish elite...let him and mason platoon. If nobody emerges, we can afford someone more established the following season. I am also open to keeping him (Bryz) into next season to see if he can be more consistent and confident behind what should hopefully be a better team. If he still sports a GAA and SV% toward the bottom of the starting goalie pack, while being paid near the top of the pack, I think an amnesty buyout would most likely be warranted imo.

Agreed, there are going to be some upset people when Flyers deal Couts its going to happen especially with Laughton in the mix. Thats the reality of the trade you have to give up assets to gain. Flyers are pretty solid at forward granted the season has been a letdown but this group has shown they have a lot of potential.

If your talking pietrangelo the flyers would have to start with couter, cousins, this years 1st. Something like that is what it would take and I think they have zero interest in moving him

Loving the old-school announcing on the CBC feed of the MON/BOS game on NHLN. Play-by-play between the whistles, and color commentary during breaks...no talk of what players had for lunch or what their favorite color underwear is. This ain't Doc, Edzo and Pierre.

Totally agree. Way old school and every stupid nickname ever invented to call a game stays in the closet

no question, he's a core piece and the chances of him being available are nil.
