6 for Stewart wtf are you serious?
Can't see AP getting anymore then Karlsson.
Shats is no higher then 5
And I agree on Berglund
If its what the owner wants to spend then that's a bit different then cap problems - Bieksa#3
Stewart's young. Top scorer on STL. Fair to say he'll get between 5-6 M |

Or if you've overpaid by 2 million on those contracts, it leaves them 5 million for 4 players. - golfingsince
I like Chris Stewart but 5.5-6 is just stupid talk. All these guys are RFA |

What's the problem. Depth players will be at league minimum. And your on the high side of all those contracts - Bieksa#3
That doesn't even include RFA's Russell and Cole. Do they let them walk? Or trade them for picks? |

Well still do the math with your estimates:
AP - 6.5
Shats - 5
Stewart - 5
Berg - 4.5
Thats 21 mil right there. |

If I were to do something bold, I would trade our 2013 1st, one of Musil,Gernat or Marincin and maybe Lander or Hartikainen and a conditional 1st round pick (either '14 or '15, Subject to an extension) to San Jose for Joe Thornton. No idea what San Jose is planning to do, but they might look at re-tooling.Hopefully Joe sees a potential winner and would waive his NTC.
This would allow the Oilers to explore trade options for a top defenseman. Who that is I don't know.
Then again, this isn't NHL 13. |

He's their leading scorer. He will easily get 5 maybe more. I bet its 5.5. |

So they have 6 mill to sign 5 depth players. I'd say its pretty easy |

No doubt his market value would be more than O'Rielly. What did he get? Safe bethe gets more than Gagners re-up as well, which will be well north of 4 million, closer to 5. |

Richard you are by far the worst bi-polar blogger ever. One day your talking about winning the cup the next day it's tanking the season. Make up your damn mind. |

Do they re-sign Cole and Russell? They will also be at least 1.5 -2 each. |

IMO there's gonna be a ton of bridge contracts on RFA's this season. Subban at $2.9 is all GM's are going to point to. |

if some suggest berglund is to get $4.5m per, then that'll be a good measure where gagner's new term lands too. |

Not ALL GM's...youre forgetting about the reckless morons that will overpay in the hope that the cap will still up.There is a reason why this league suffered through 3 work stoppages. |
|
|
|
Do they really have a choice... the remaining games will equate to a less than .500 record... may as well secure a good pick... it may appear intentional but the best examples of where this team is at is the last 2 games... if we could play the AHL Calgary Flames well then everyone would be planning the parade...but I dont see us placing lower than Col, Calgary, FLA or TB... something like 25th in the league maybe even 23rd at best... top 7 pick or better... |

But not Colorado |
|
|

It's thinking like this that is the reason there is a losing mentality in Edmonton. Competing for a playoff spot is a good thing, a step forward, even if the chances are slight.
And packaging the first should happen no matter what position they pick. - batjester
Its too late for that now... we will be selecting between 7th to as high as 5th overall |

Richard, you're such a moron. Tanking on purpose? (frank) off. BTW, keep your day job, you'd make a horrible GM....and you suck as a blogger. Sure you write a ton of blogs, but I'd take quality over quantity any day. And trust me, your blogs aren't quality. |
