Miller stopping odd man rushes, point blank shots, making all 3 saves in the shootout.
Full marks to the Buffalo team defense. - PLindbergh31

Sabres beat the Devils in OT. - FlyerGuy
Back up to 6.2% chance for top pick. Anyone know what playoff chances are? I think that pendulum is swinging back down |

Ryan Miller, on the 'player of the game' fur coat he has to wear -
"Oh, it's fake. Everything's fake here."
At least, I think he was talking about the coat.

I just don't want to ruin my cred as a spin doctor. Got to stay consistent.
It's a two way street. I don't deal in absolutes, because that's what children deal in. People that come out and do the whole Bryz sucks thing and beat the fact he's 40th in save percentage are as irritating as those who throw no blame on him.
I've always tried to be on middle ground. I'm a bit more optimistic than most, because I don't see the point in acting like an idiot because a team loses a game. My Richard still works if they don't make the playoffs, and Ill still support the team if they buy out Bryz or name him a part owner.
That's why I don't sit here and flaunt Bishop's 38 games as a sign he'll be the next great young goalie. He's played very well, for sure. But look at Mason over his first 61 games, or Anders Lindback over his first 38 games. He could be the next Lundqvist...could also be the next Blaine Lacher. I don't know which path he will take.
I don't like absolutes, because there's no such thing as an absolute in hockey. - Jsaquella

The way he's been talking lately, it'd be odd if it wasn't.

I know I for one bow to our Ranger Overlords. They are in 7th place with 5 more points than the Flyers (with the AHL defense), the deserve our fealty. |

Those options seem more realistic bc they arent going to get a number one defenseman in a trade. I just dont see it but I hope i'm wrong. - stveshdy
They can easily get a #1 Defenseman via trade, issue is that high price it will cost. If you you get a guy for maybe Read + Coburn + Laughton, that would be great but in the end I think Coots and a pick need to to be involved as well as a defenseman |

Technically, If you are paying the high price, it's not so easy. I'm interested to hear your opinion on what #1 defenseman would be available for your proposed deal?
Keeping in mind there are two teams involved....The Flyers, and the team willing to deal their #1.

Hes not very good with the puck on his stick which is surprising. I dont remember him not being able to handle it when playing elsewhere during his career. - stveshdy
In general, people tend to think their goalie sucks while all others are great. |

Well, it would be easy (in a strictly literal, material sense) to do it. Call up Nashville/Montreal/Phoenix/etc. and say, "We're gonna give you Giroux, Schenn, and Couturier for ." The only part that isn't easy is the mental barrier you have to overcome. But as far as being able to make a deal, any player can be easily acquired (excepting Crosby and Stamkos). |

I have always been open to the idea, but preferred to wait until next summer and see if they could get more out of him behind a better defensive team. But despite a much improved team focus on defense, his game has still been inconsistent and very concerning - Jsaquella
Imho, it's not much improved. Improved, yes, but not by leaps and bounds. I think the key to the improvement is the new guys who are simply playing basic, no risk hockey. We'll see if it is sustainable. |

I'm just curious.. When subban wins the Norris this year is everyone going to be still laughing at me for suggesting trading coots for subban the last 2 months? Or is coots ( the supposed future selke winner) still beTter Than subban |

Hmm, I don't recall anyone laughing at you. I DO recall LOTS of you crying like a little girl when people DISAGREE with you. But that isn't really the same thing is it?
Now do you want to have a rational discussion about Subban or just continue as you always do crying and whining about how no one is nice to your feelings? |

1st off, I have never cried or whined that people aren't nice to me? Another poster said something about people posting passive aggressive to make people feel stupid as being done to me was their example. I had nothing to do with it. I don't know why you keep saying that I said anything of the sort. And 2nd, yes I was laughed at for saying trade coots. I was told it was crazy trade proposal. That coots was future selke winner. |
