Per Katie Strang's live chat this afternoon:
Brandon (Long Island)
Concerning the New York teams, who gets in and who has a long summer?
Katie Strang (4:13 PM)
Rangers and Isles will make it, I predict, while the Devils will miss - kear20
A lot of people are predicting this |

I know I am going to get drilled for this but I got drunk off of Zimas once. I won the Long Island knitting championships the following weekend. - kasperrko

I would say we make it a weekly mystery blogger....someone can be in charge of naming that weeks blogger, send a sercret PM saying "You've got it next week", and they do it under Racer X or whatever. Then that selected blogger picks the next guy via PM.
Hell, if nothing else it would be fun to figure out who wrote it... - keaner17
i'd in for that |

Summer cottage in the Hamptons looks more like this:

Damn that's nice. I would love to have a "one night stand" wing to my house with a seperate entrance/exit. |

If I owned that house and its related toys my "one night stand" wing would have a turnstile and a "Please take a number" machine. |

Eh, it was all for the ratings...they actually share a summer cottage in the Hamptons. Both families get along quite well...don't tell - keaner17

This team will start getting real "accolades" from me when it buries the team it has to play tomorrow night, from the drop of the puck to the buzzer at the end of the third period. Almost everyone who should be playing defense for them is injured, and they aren't really that good in that area in the first place. It's also apparent that all you have to do to score against them is to shoot the puck at the goalie's head. Moreover, if I'm Capuano, I have this tidbit written by "Savant" Servalli from 3/29 edition of the Philadelphia Daily News posted in large letters on the chalkboard:
"A team half as talented but doubly motivated than the Flyers, the Islanders pulled into a tie with their cross-town rival Rangers for the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot."
Half as talented? Oh, really? If you're not wondering why your good players are all playing for Los Angeles already, you will be two years from now, guaranteed.
Like I said, they need to go out and cover that team with the cat litter once and for all tomorrow night. Then I will start to believe. |

I hate the fact that we need to root for the Leafs tonight. Just no OT please!

Being in the Philly area I can confirm that this is indeed the mindset around here. A lot of folks here think Pittsburgh and the Flyers are the only teams tha matter in the east. They also think Giroux is in Crosby's league.....

Well they're out of their minds. That team was a mess not too long ago and has the looks of becoming one again, party is over in Philly. I'd like to think that all of us would be humble enough when this thing really turns around? Maybe not? |

No way. I'm gonna be like a Gorilla who has been taunted behind the glass at the zoo and he finally breaks out. I can't wait!!! I'll be suspended more times then Steve Howe during his playing days |

Yeah, that's why they're the only Philly team I hate- because the Eagles and Phillies followers understand when their team sucks, and will give them a harder time than anyone else's fans or press will. The Flyers fans and the press who covers them always pretend that their sh*t team that hasn't won a Cup since Gerald Ford was the President is the greatest, and if they lose, it's because they didn't try hard enough or the refs f***ed them (especially the latter- some announcers can be obnoxious about their team, but these guys are the only ones who spend 60 minutes perpetually crying over the officiating- I'd rather listen to a jackhammer while watching a game than hear one word from Jim Jackson, or whatever his name is). Injuries are also no excuse....for anyone but them. It's kind of like if the Yankees played hockey....except adding the idea that these "Yankees" never win anything, ever.... |
