What do you think they could bring? Stahl`s not singed yet and negotaions not going any where I hear Sharpie has some sort of NO TRADE FRO is a little expensive for a non finisher Bolland is not playing well It would clear cap room for off season but not alot to pick from for replacing Sharp with the same skill set Stahl could bring maybe a 2nd if he signs Bolland now maybe that 2/3 but the team would have to be wanting him more than one year Fro maybe 3/4?
- Joe-snoopy-Cool

Both Stalberg (signed or unsigned) and Bolland can fetch picks in a trade at the draft. As to what round of the pick(s) is still a good question.

Not sure. With Bickell and StaHlberg, you're looking at trading UFA negotiating rights, so not likely worth very much. Frolik maybe a 4th. Bolland maybe a 2nd if he has a decent playoff. Sharp for a player + a 2nd or 3rd?

Hard to say, but the point is, there will likely be opportunities for Stanbow to add some picks if he wants to.

I commented on this yesterday....Bolland and Frolik could bring back a few pics in return between the two of them....possibly more if they have a great post season. If they can't sign Stalberg his rights could be moved for anything from a 4th to a 7th.

Now you're cooking with gas!

I met my wife at a NR reunion show.

I played on a team called Exit Lounge back in the 90's.. We played at Oak Lawn Ice Arena. Two of the guys on that team were John and Joe Haggerty. John of course was part of Naked Raygun for awhile. Both were great guys and great teammates. John was the better hockey player of the two. We won the league championship and I always remember it as one of the best teams talent-wise I ever played on as well as being one of the most fun.

Everything is good up this way. Caught an Icehogs game with Ogie and UnnamedSource yesterday.

As for St. Pierre, I doubt that happens. He's in Rockford on an AHL deal. The Hawks would have to tender him a two-way contract for that to happen.

- EKolb13

Good stuff...the Hogs are racking up W's....4 in a row !!! Great to see. Thanks for the legalese on St. Pierre

But hockey wise...you think a) he could help us and b) do you think he deserves a look ?

P.S. Hawk killer Ryan O'Byrne is making his Leafs debut vs NYR tonight and he's been punishing ma'phuckers early on. Good pickup by the Buds.

Not really. He's an AHL all-star, and his career is in that league. He's part of a handful of guys that hop city to city every year looking for the biggest paycheck and to help put asses in the stands along with mentoring the young talent.

Raygun......Naked Raygun
- UnnamedSource

Decent punk band, not one of their better efforts. Think that was after John Haggerty left and formed Pegboy. Saw the lead singer Jeff ? with his band at the time at Subterranean several years back and they played a number of Raygun tunes; Home of the Brave comes to mind.

Hi John...

I typically love all of your columns...some of the time you are a good writer with great insight...some of the time you are a great writer with good insight...I'm sure you will understand that. Just recently I voiced my opinion regarding how strongly I felt Saad should be considered for ROY. My vision of Saad and what type of player he could become is a little different than yours...I am actually surprised considering my opening to this comment that you did not think of the most obvious comparison...that being mine. Brandon Saad is a young Jon Toews. I realize those are mighty big words or skates to fill but he has the chance to do it. He has the wheels, his hands and strength will only get better, he plays with 2 of the best examples of complete hockey players and quite simply he never, ever gives up on the puck. What we have in Saad is another piece to the "core"...a piece we would be wise to lock up for many years. Keep up the good/great great/good work...a pleasure reading your stuff.

- Chisoxhawk

You had me at Chisox.

Nah, he's not another Jonny Toews. Not even close. But he is and will be a very good player and, yes, likely a core piece for sure.

You are correct. Also, the same line-up that recorded "Raygun...Naked Raygun" still plays shows a few times a year.

Here is a question for JJ, Al, and the best hockey fans in the NHL (excerpt ELI, you aren't allowed to answer for wearing that outfit in that pic):

Assuming the Hawks are healthy for the playoffs, what are their lines??

Bollig gets sent down, but with Handzus now, who sits??????

My younger brother used to really be into them and go to their shows. Apparently they used to throw chotchkies (sp?) out to the crowd with their logo on it. After one show my bro returned with a fly swatter with a Raygun logo at the bottom; thought it was pretty cool.
