Read my mind, and don't think he and Hossa don't have a fairly high comfort level together. So something like:
20-19-88
10-26-81
29-36-25
67-16-65 - John Jaeckel
Now that's a set-up I'd be more than happy to root for. This season whenever Toews and Kane have been together on the ice they have been dynamic, moreso than in previous years. |

Indeed he does. 13 games in the past 2 playoffs with 1 goal scored. I certainly hope he does better this season, but that past couple years haven't been that good. - DarthKane
Well his first year you really can't count because his minutes weren't there and last year he wasn't on the pp. Not enough sample size to quantify as an annual choke. |

Whe Honda has been out Harvey deosn't take over...Maybe only a couple times in the last 2-3 years.
He is the press box announcer.
They have used different guys to fill in...The current fill in I haven't heard before this season.

He has an annual play off choke? - UnnamedSource
Not saying Vik's needs the Heimlich but he's got 3 points in 13 career playoff games...but i never really expected much offense from him in the post season..but this year i expect more than 3 points.

I think Stalberg/Shaw/Kruger get a 2nd line shot before Handzus.
When Q. starts to use #10 in practice at center he has a plan in mind.
As odd as it is Shap doesn't play much center during the year but then finds his way there in the playoffs.

I think Blackhawks Nation would breath a collective sigh of relief if/when Sharp moves to centre.

O'Byrne with a goal and a physical debut for the Leafs. We were set on D but he would have been a nice addition. |

He'll be a UFA at season's end, as will Mark Fistric. I'd take either one. |

This kinda goes back to the Olesz argument. You can't just take a stat book and read one statistic as fact. You have to look at minutes played, how many scoring chances did his line generate, etc. For instance there are very few stats that tell me Krugman and Frolik are excellent on the PK....but they are. Ogi, Ekolb, and I went to the Ice Hog game yesterday. While watching Hayes had the puck behind the net with three Rivermen in front of the net. Olesz was in the corner and refused to go to the net for support and Hayes missed a scoring chance largely because of the lack of desire on Rusty's part to engage in physical contact. His stats this past week will show a lot of points but when you see him in person and watch him float......and float....... you realize he isn't going anywhere. |

Does everything have to be about Olesz with you? I know you love him but there are other players in the Blackhawks organization you know.
In the past 2 seasons Stalberg's ice time has increased in the playoffs vs the regular season but his production has dropped. Don't get me wrong, I like Stalberg and hope he returns next year (although I doubt it will happen). Stalberg is here to provide offense and he hasn't done that in the past two playoffs. Lets hope this year is different for Vik and he has a stellar playoffs.

I was using it as a reference because of our past discussion but again the point I made is valid. You are correct that his ice time has increased but his role has expanded each year as well. His first year with the Hawks was his first full season in the NHL and he has progressed since then. If you look at Kane's stats during the play offs there have been times he has disappeared as well.....last year the whole team scored one goal on the pp. I don't think Stalberg had a strong play off, but again to small of a sample size to determine that. |

Tough to give up Fro's PK time, but if Q wants more red ass, maybe Fro sits and either Bollig or Carbomb gets some starts? I can't see anyone else sitting if healthy. - Ogilthorpe2
If he keeps playing the way he has the last few games I'm hoping he's in the lineup come playoff time; not sure who that means sits. Tough call on Fro as he was one of the few noticeable fwds last year in the PHX series. |

People were ragging on Crawford for 1 bad playoff series so I think Stalberg is fair game for his performance over the past 2. Stalberg may not have been to soil the sheets last year; Kane, Sharp and Keith definitely under performed as well. But they all did much better in their 1st couple playoffs.
If you want to argue that 2 playoffs is not enough to judge Stalberg on, then fine. But the fact remains that Stalberg has had 2 disappointing playoffs. |

Based on the fact the Hawks haven't advanced past the first round you could say the whole team has had 2 disappointing play offs since they won the cup. |

True, with a couple exceptions. Bickell and Frolik (especially) have had solid playoffs over the past 2 years. |

How come the Islanders are never on a National Broadcast...for a team with a nice young nucleus or has we say in Chicago....."core"....and what looks like a play off team you would think they would be on more......that is all.

So what you're really saying is that in essence all their dreams have been broken; not just Bolland's. - HawkintheD
Boulevard of broken dreams my friend.......it soon will be an E! true hollywood story...
FADE IN: Street of Dreams by Rainbow plays in the background as a wide angle camera view of Bolland sobbing on the Hawks bench after a practice......very few lights are on....no one else is around:
"Why!" Bolland cries out......."Why can't I win more face offs! Why can't my back be like it once was. Why can't the fans love me again!"
Back in the locker room.......Dream Weaver plays on the stereo....
Chatter between coaches and players fill the room....Jonathan Toews looks at the camera...
"Bolly's gotta know we support him.....he needs to wipe those tears and pick that chin up. His dreams aren't broken.....he just has to make it happen"
Fade out....
A blonde bikini clad body oils up herself by the pool in a suburb of Chicago. Dream On by Aerosmith plays in the background.
"it is effecting our marriage" says bollands wife......when we get intimate he doesn't just take my panties off he tries to swat at them like he is at the face off circle. He can never get them off and when I offer to help he runs out of the room...."
Fade out |
