Craig Finn's voice always rubbed me the wrong way.

As for Mike Ness, he played a big part in me ditching a mohawk for a can of pomade and a D.A. - that eventually led to the purchase of a doghouse bass.

That's a long story for another time...and another place.

I like the Elvis Costello vibe.....need to hear this story over a beer......but just think, you heard WASP today.

Yes it is a problem with shows with a huge ensemble.....like LOST. I just got into Dexter and currently just started Battlestar Galactica which so far is absolutely phenomenal.

Nice, I have to check those out.

Obviously won't claim to know them...but they seem pretty down to earth...my one qualm is...Peart's kit is OVER THE TOP. TOO MUCH.
- philco28

I was watching Rush: Live in Cleveland and even I was like.....that's insane. I always tell people......"You do realize that music you hear is being played by only three people"

Both great! Battlestar was one show that just kept building and getting better so that you couldn't wait til the next episode. Have to dig that out and watch it again.

Nickelback should be executed for ruining rock music.....but must do Bon Jovi first....firing squad.

Does anyone else think it's weird Jovi is in his 50's and still singing about being a teenager?

I can't get into the big festivals.....to me it's a horrible way to listen to live music. I would rather go to the Riv or Vic theatre....heck I just Butch Walker at the Double Door a couple of months ago...

The 4th season of Dexter is one of the best TV seasons of all time, no question. The best show on TV is Breaking Bad, come on guys

Its all formula now...and he has the MILF crowd. I remember buying his first record when I was 9.....still holds up today. You couldn't pay me to go see him now though....

Breaking Bad is on my list.....I am still mad about the final scene of season four. Don't want to spoil it for anyone but it took me weeks to move on to season 5.

I didn't but would like to see them somewhere. A couple summers ago I proclaimed myself too old for festival concerts. Went to the First Lollapalooza reboot in Chicago. Great show! Saw the Pixies, Arcade Fire, etc. The last one I went to was to see one band, Love and Rockets. Was crowded as hell but they were awesome! Glad I went.

Oh right, Go Hawks!

Battlestar won a Peabody and the story has so many layers but it is subtle in it's presentation. Im midway through season 1....looking forward to continuing.

I loathe outdoor fests. I ended up going to Summerfest up in Milwaukee (at my wife's behest) over the summer and caught Bob Mould. That turned out to be alright, despite the unbearable heat.

90% of what's on the radio is just easy-to-digest nonsense. Just a catchy tunes. There's no staying power, you know? Thank God there were guys like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and others who wrote songs that told stories and had meaning. Music from back then still holds up today and will continue to hold up forever--becuase it was good and came from a place that was real.

Double Door's a great venue; saw the National their once. Decent show. The Vic is great too, saw one of my favorite shows there ever, Bauhaus.

I've seen great shows at the Riv but the sound is kind of hit or miss. Saw Kings of Leon there and they just didn't have the sound right that evening.
