I'm still 20 so I still find the big festivals plenty fun

I gotcha.....when the smell of puke and sweat start to annoy you....it means you've reached another plateau in life.....oh and annoyed with crowd jams.

Double Door's a great venue; saw the National their once. Decent show. The Vic is great too, saw one of my favorite shows there ever, Bauhaus.

I've seen great shows at the Riv but the sound is kind of hit or miss. Saw Kings of Leon there and they just didn't have the sound right that evening.

Butch put on a great show as usual. I saw The Damnwells there last year and The Old 97's

90% of what's on the radio is just easy-to-digest nonsense. Just a catchy tunes. There's no staying power, you know? Thank God there were guys like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and others who wrote songs that told stories and had meaning. Music from back then still holds up today and will continue to hold up forever--becuase it was good and came from a place that was real.

Oh to be...enjoy!

Who's headlining this year?

Don't know what you're into and believe they have a newish album out; if Pinback comes to Chicago check them out.

The Cure, Mumford, Nine Inch Nails. I know The National are there, who I'm a big fan of. I'll be sure to check them out, from what you mentioned so far I like your style. Probably know them, but Alt-J is a cool group. Kind of a different sound

Cool. Old 97's are pretty good, sadly I mostly know about them from the g@yest show ever as they opened for Train and Matchbox 20. A girl from work I had just started dating had tickets and asked me to go. I traded in my cool band cred card to get some; oh well.

I couldn't believe how many guys I saw at that show that actually seemed to like Train and Matchbox 20; that's a hardcore commitment to getting laid.

Would love to see the Cure. NIN was at the Lolla where I saw Love and Rockets. They were on the same stage an hour later. They were also a headliner so I was watching them for a bit from what seemed like Chinatown. They were at the first Lollapalooza tour with Janes Addiction at the World (now MW Bank Amphitheatre I think); horrible place to see a show. Was in the beer line for an hour and sadly missed NIN. It was their first big tour in support of Pretty Hate Machine.

Haven't heard them but will definitely check out Alt-J.

You said it, great day You know what else, Rios looks REAL good in the box. Sitting back on the ball and mashing! Don't even get me started on Danks...haha.
I really like Donnie Veal. Whether he pitches an inning or just one guy for the setup, he just does his job, and he's damn good at it Want to see him more this season.

Rios is in a nice groove. Like how Flowers has embraced the starter job. Veal's good...Crain's a cardiac, runs a lot of full counts...Thornton's been there too long...and WTF up with Keppinger ?

Crain with that short-arm release...he's all over the place. He looked awful yesterday. Not consistaency. I'm not sure what's up with Keppinger. Hoping he'll come around.

Crain's release point is unpredictable. He doesn't even seem to know where the ball is going. Guess it could be worse. We could employ Marmol

Kepp should wake up when he can feel his hands again/in May

You're right about how it could be worse. Marmol (shudder). I'll tell you what though, real happy with Robin as skip. Great last year and I expect the same for the rest of his tenure.

Love Robin as a player and he did a fine job as a rookie skip...but we CHOKED down the stretch. No EXCUSE for that.

Totally agree with you on the choke last season. The wheels started to come off and then it was over. No run support, that's the biggest problem. Pitching wise and defensivley, they're good. Just have to get the bats going to give some support and get a cusion.
