Between Rush and Triumph...the Maple Leaf was pretty well rep'd in the 80's and so many other great bands that most Americans have probably never heard of....like The Tragically Hip, Max Webster and then Kim Mitchell, Honeymoon Suite, Doug and The Slugs and many, many more.

Sloan is a great Canadian band.....definite Rush influence but I think of them as the modern day Cheap Trick.
