Buying him out for the final five years would cost the Flyers $25.25M

Thats alot of money to eat but then again this franchise has the $.

I thought it's 2/3rds of his remaining salary.....if he plays well enuf they may be able to trade him if they eat some of his salary......don't know how that would count against our cap......if its 2/3rds only 16million, roughly.

Nope, I found it funny. Goofy, off the wall and horribly acted, but fun.

Guess it's because Madeline Kahn, Michael McKean and Christopher Lloyd are in it. I like those three.

I already hear folks say they think Giroux should be stripped of the C. That it's a burden on him, it's holding him back, and that he's not giving the team the leadership it needs. It'll proceed to be questioning of his potential, whether he is or was overrated, and plenty of re-hashed talking points from the Richards captaincy. It's laughable. A few months ago, he was still the chosen one, earning even the admiration of opposing fans, and now he's not even good enough for a fabric C on his shirt.

Yet he still has 37 points in 38 games playing for a not so good team.

I don't know what's going to happen. A buyout of Briere is one thing. They got value out of that contract and it's not a big deal. But think about it. Are the bean counters at Comcast just going to let the Flyers walk away from Bryzgalov, and write that big check? I think odds are the word from upstairs is you signed him, now make it work, and give it another year. I could very well be wrong, but that's what my gut tells me.

I totally agree with where you are coming from with this. If I'm trying to limit the financial loss as much as possible, I'd keep Bryz for one more year then consider buying him out. It's smart accounting. HOWEVER, Snider is 80. Each year for him is like a decade to the typical young fan in their 30's. I believe Snider has seen enough of Bryz regardless of what he says in public in support of the roster. If time is not on your side, you have to cut your losses early. Time is more important than money in this case.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I wish Laviolette had been more patient with Bob back in 2011. He may have been the catalyst for our goalie death spiral.
