If Craig Anderson hadn't got hurt, he would not only win, he'd be the only one on the ballot.

If he kept those numbers up? Yea.

BlueJackets make playoffs Bob wins Vezina. If they don't then right now Rask is your winner. Rask is top 3 GAA and Sv. Pct.

The team might be low on confidence. Him letting that one goal lost all confidence for that teams to go out there and get one. This is why people say it's the "important" saves that matter. You said someone is a "homer" for considering Price. Why because his save% is lower?, or his GAA? If you'd whatch him play you would see that he makes the saves that matter which leads to him having 19 wins and 3 shutouts along with a respectful GAA and SA%. You would also see that because the team is so much on the offence, most goals he let in are on the PP or oddmen rush where he has absolutely no chances.

I think Hank is a superb goalie. Definately top 5, and that the Rags do suck. However he is putting us a slightly above .500, with no shutouts.

I was the one who said people are being homers. And you may wanna check those stats again.

Henrik - 2.07 GAA, .928 Save %
Price - 2.26 GAA, .916 Save %

my formula, using all goalies with 20+ games except Kiprusoff, looks at the difference between last (0 pts) and first (100 pts) among those goalies in the 3 stats wins, GAA, and Save%. I also add a bonus of #shutouts*2.

=(WINS-10)*10 + (3.02-GAA)*(100/1.07) + (SAVE%-0.896)*(100/0.032) + SHUTOUTS*2

Dont think it matters how to break down the #'s, looks like youll always end up with Niemi, Rask and Hank as the top 3.

:Sigh: That sounds about right. This organization for all they do right, just cannot make a smart decision on goaltenders. I still remember when they signed Beezer instead of Cujo in his prime over the difference of a couple million. I remember thinking when they traded Bob this summer that it was a stupid move. Always nice to pick up a couple of draft picks like they did, but there's a reason the Kings still have Bernier, the Canucks hung on to Schneider, etc. If you have a young goaltender who has shown flashes of success, yet hasn't even come close to reaching their prime you hang onto them. Especially after the season that Bryz had last year. Oh well. Perhaps Mason can follow the same model and get his career back on track.

These stats tell the story a little bit more about the teams playing in front of these goalies.

For example, Crawford (and Emery for that matter) benefit greatly from the team playing in front of them, [as if we already didnt know that!]. They are one of the top puck possession teams, they take the least amount of penalties, and when they are on the PK, they arent giving up many shots, a top 5 team in giving up the fewest amount of shots per game at that.

Hank is doing his usual. His team has good puck possession numbers, but they are still middle of the pack allowing shots. So hes facing a lot of shots and saving them. His team blocks a lot of shots too.

Bobrovsky is doing extremely well this year. His team is bottom 5 in puck possession, and they are top 10 in giving up the most amount of shots per game and he is ranked in the top 3 in Total and EV SV%!

Niemi benefits from his teams special teams the most. Taking some of the fewest penalties, and giving up top 5 fewest shots on the PK. They are top 3 in number of PP they are on the ice for. They are #1 for blocked shots, but hes 11th in EV SV%.

Rinne does well in a good defensive system. They are one of the leagues worst teams at puck possession yet they are top 10 in giving up the fewest shots against!

----

I think my top 3 would be:

1. Lundqvist
2. Bobrovsky
3. Rask/Crawford/Niemi
