mason is only the 2nd lefty in flyers history behind stephane beauragauruauauruard.
well, maybe techincally 3rd - i think sebastion caron was signed at the end of the year a couple of years ago, post trade deadline just to get to the end of the season..but i don't recall him playing.

none of this has anything to do with your post. i lack self discipline.

So after failing to get the big money goalie they wanted in free agency and settling for their second choice in Bryzgalof they fail to get Bishop at the trade deadline and settle for mason and replace their second choice with their second choice for their last gasp game in NY.

Good times... good times.

- mayorofangrytown

How was Bryzgalov the 2nd choice? He's the guy whose rights they traded for, and then signed before free agency opened.

Best two goalies available at the time were Bryzgalov and Vokoun.

That's the part that confused me too. Who was option number 1 in FA? Vokoun?

That's completely irrelevant in terms of Bryzgalov being the team's second choice. Bryzgalov was the one whose rights they traded for and signed to a long term contract. If they wanted Vokoun, they would have traded for him or waiting for free agency.

Well, they really wanted to get Patrick Roy in 1993. Instead they got Roussell and Soderstrom. It was a mistake, should have gotten Roy.

Look, if you're not going to post a pair of boobs....

I don't have a lefty bias. I just hope he can regain his rookie year form, or at least be a solid goalie for the Flyers.

They had a chance to get Roy in 1995

"There's not a snowball's chance in hell of Patrick Roy playing in Philadelphia," Flyers president and general manager Bob Clarke said

Nope. Not even close to true.

They were supposedly offered Roy in 1995-96, when he went to Colorado.

What you can't see is she's playing against Steve Mason and showing him what not to do when playing goal.

It's an educational video.

I learned that Randy Miller is a thin skinned moron. He tweeted he would have traded Couturier and a 2nd rounder for Ben Bishop.

Those D-Pairings are like being at a bar at closing time and realizing you could either go home alone or pound that last round to get you beyond the edge of sensibility and go home with one of those girls you wouldn't have looked at when you walked into the bar sober. The flyers don't have the option of going home alone so they have pounded that last round and taken home the stragglers.

Being tipsy this is pretty dang funny.
