Why is he even sliding at that point? There literally no reason to slide there. None. - Jsaquella
He dove bc he was out of position and tried to lift the stick. By doing that he slid right into the puck. No a good play at all. Another young player though who will learn from these mistakes. |

so much wasted time watching them this season. i'm disgusted. - moylander
i've missed a handful of games, and i've had very little emotion watching them. i think the last time i was really pissed was the opening game against buffalo.
look at this way...if they're going to be this decimated with injuries and play this awful, at least it's only for 48 games instead of 82. |

Welp, this team just got put out of their misery and they can start planning for next year in earnest.

Cut lose Briere and Bryz. Comcast, you make enough money to eat Bryz's contract. The season isn't his fault, but this team needs a top line forward, a top line puck moving Dman and another goalie.
I'd like them to sign Anton Khudobin and let the young goalies battle it out. The other 2 pieces will take creativity. |

he did. mason did a very nice job tonight. the team in front of him (frank)ing sucks. it's not that there was zero effort...just not enough effort that materialized into much of anything useful. they're finished. - hammarby31
zero effort.
with a possible season-ending game on the line can you think of any single player that stood out (in a good way) in the third period. i can't.
where the hell has the captain been this season. |

Let's be honest. They've been finished for a while now. You can see that in their play.

Lot of borderline NHL players in the lineup. Rosehill, Hall, Knuble, Lauridsen, Gervais, Huskins, Gustafsson.... That's basically half the team. These are young players who have fringe potential, and veterans who are other teams discarded trash.
Not sure what people expect. |

I believe they have not been over .500 at any point in the season. They were finished before they began. |

Blown into the goal buy a gust - feelingkettle
Yeah, pretty lame. Another breakaway against the Flyers, Mason makes the save, then Gus pops it into net.
Lots of turnovers, tons of bad passes, not many hits, etc. Just a bad game from an AHL looking team.

How was Bryzgalov the 2nd choice? He's the guy whose rights they traded for, and then signed before free agency opened. - Jsaquella
you have obviously forgotten that they traded for Nabakov's rights at the draft but couldn't sign him. |

wtf. Has any team scored on themselves more than the Flyers this year?
that 4 game stretch drained this team. I believe they have heart, just nothing left. - jstross
So far, they seem to be still engaged, which is good. We'll see how they respond on Thursday night.
This team just doesn't have the horses and I'm still not even sure if Laviolette is the right guy for this group.
Paul Holmgren has his work cut out for him. |

giroux has been lousy imo. far too many games where he's been invisible. this is a game where you want to see him stand out and try to put the team on his back. i don't remember a single thing he did in this game. not one. |

I'm not against a buy out, still would prefer to wait, but if they do, I'd like to see a guy like Emery brought in, more of a known quantity than Khudobin.
I think a good, top four/top pair guy with mobility and puck skills is the biggest need, though. |
